If so then maybe Intamin should try working the bugs of of their LIMS before they build the next Impulse.

That's asking a lot considering they're still working the bugs out of Maintenance Force! ;) Just kidding, of course, but the Intamins do seem to be very tempermental to me. Of course in the rare event that a ride like Magnum does go down mechanical (and it's not a bad wheel) it seems to make a lot longer to fix - like a guy going to the top of the lift to replace a prox swtch. :)

I'll never believe anyone about "problems" again unless they can be quantified. I heard all kinds of "problems" for Millennium Force, few of which ended up being true.
Yeah, Superman had all kinds of problems. Wasn't it the first ride of its kind though? I mean, had LIM's ever been used before to launch a ride?

First lim launched coaster was outer limits at PKI, then PKD.
First lim sort of speak ride was the wedway people mover :) at dis :)
First impulse was located in China I believe, but it did not have the spiral on the climb.
But Superman the escape "CA" was the first magnetic launch that also reverse current to slow the car on return without friction brakes., thats where they got the tech for the impulse.
Superman in CA uses LSM, and yes most Lim/Lsm coasters have tons of problems, mostly software or voltage related, they are not as easy to setup as they seem.
Hope that made sense, or something. :)
Cheers!

However, Tommy, If you look really really closely you'll see that the tarm covers the "Cage thingy" ;)
I think that it is not plexi-glass. I'm pretty sure it's something else. What that is I'm not sure of myself. I guess I'll find out soon enough. :)
