I've heard the Dusk to Dawn, Greentree Inn, and the Travelodge are all awful-can anyone confirm this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

The one of the Best hotels besides the One's Cedar Point owns and the Great Bear Lodge that is well worth what you pay is the new Hampton Inn on 250.
Not the Hampton Inn in Milan, the Hampton Inn in Sandusky. It opened this year and is on the same road as the old one just 6 miles north of the old one.
Very Very nice hotel! Deluxe Free breakfast in the morning too!
I do want to give some recognition to Hampton Inn as an excellent chain. Maybe it's been a coincidence, but I've stayed at 3 different ones in various locations, and they've all been outstanding.
They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee if I remember correctly. One stay at Hampton, there was a very minor billing error, and they insisted on letting us stay free. Another visit, the hotel rep. went through a list of discounts, trying to get us some kind of discount (and she did) without us even asking. Everything in the hotels seemed new...the cabinets, paintings, tv's, beds, bathrooms, and etc. And the free breakfast....I was expecting donuts and coffee like other hotels. At the first Hampton, it was a buffet. There were donuts, muffins, waffles, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal, hot eggs, bacon, breakfast sandwiches, milk, 3 different kinds of juice, EVERYTHING. Other Hampton's were similar, but I don't remember seeing the silver pans of hot eggs/french toast/bacon (I think the 1st one was a more upscale suite version or something). Still, very impressive.
When I heard of CP giving customers problems refunding money at Breakers after the power outage, I was dissapointed; they needed to be more like Hampton.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
However ANY of the hotels/motels HAVE to beat living in the CP dorms!!!! Trust me!!! ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

This might not help at all, but it seems as if your looking for hotels. I might have caught the wrong drift though.

My friend stayed at Dawn to Dusk and said it wasn't awful, but it wasn't that great either.
A few years ago, when I was probably 14 or so I stayed at the Fairfield Inn with my parents and that was nice. Of course, nothing beats the Breakers! :)

Rodeway Inn South: Stayed there once. I made reservations online to stay there two nights. The deal was awesome. Well, when I got there the informed me that I could stay the first night but they were "closing for the season" the next day (I believe this was in early October..a few years ago). We stayed that night but I made reservations at my favorite Motel 6 for the second night. :-)
The room at the Rodeway was somewhat clean but the sheets and carpet were questionable (several nice cigarette burns and stains) and I had to practically beg for towels. It was also quite drafty. Unless they have improved I will never stay there again. The customer service was ****.
Econo Lodge ( the one right before you turn onto the causeway) was alright. I would stay there again. Very economical. No frills. Everything was clean. I am not fussy......hot water, clean sheets, clean bathroom, plenty of towels....that's all I need.
Travelodge: No complaints except my TV was broke (but they replaced it). They were very nice.
The only place I have stayed at ON Cedar Point's property is Lighthouse Point. AWESOME cabins!!! Beware of those annoying muffleheads in June.
There were five of us who rented a cabin for Coastermania. Somehow the muffleheads decided to join us that night. We never left the door open for more than two seconds while leaving/returning but they seemed to find their way in very quickly. Needless to say all five of us slept in the back bedroom that night. The next morning all the muffleheads were dead, and all over the floor near the front door. Yikes!
I have heard mixed reviews on the Dusk to Dawn. Judging from their prices you may as well stay at Motel 6. It's worth the extra couple of miles drive.
