Well, Worlds of Fun finally opened this past Saturday (4/6). I figure this is my *one* chance to make you CPer's jealous. :o)
I originally wasn't planning to go out for opening day actually, because of the crowds I expected. However, at about 5:30 the skies opened up and there was a good downpour. I figured the fair weather earlier and the opening day crowd meant the park was full of people in shorts and t-shirts who'd already had most of the day in the park. If that doesn't kill the crowd, I dunno what will. So I headed out and got there by 6:30 with an hour and a half until close. :o)
Luckily, I was right about the crowds. WoF was hosting a Jr High choir competition of some kind, so the place was crawling with over-excited preteens, but crowds were thin. I managed to ride all 4 coasters in the front seat, and the detonator, in my hour and a half. It's a great feeling to get back on, after so long. I'll never get over the feeling of being in the front car on the Mamba, you're facing down a 200 ft drop and you're held virtually still by the train behind you for several seconds (which seem like minutes). I'll be headed back this Saturday to get the full tour.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share my first taste of the season. I can't wait until May when I'm coming out to see CP. See ya there!
