It's official. The colors didn't look too appealing until you see them put together. Those trains also look sweet.

Thought this was a noteworthy comparison, since they are so close in many respects.
Notice that the Patriot has a 4' advantage in drop height, yet is slower (notice ride time & track length). The Raptor also has an extra inversion. :)
Should be a great ride nonetheless. The color scheme is actually lookin really cool, and I hope that it stands up well to fade.
Edit: # of inv on Patriot is only 4, not 5.

Yes. And we knew about TTD years ago. And MF way before that. And yet, we still talk about them... imagine that.

CF still knows what their doing when it comes to building new rides.

I hope it gets better reviews than Hydra or Silver Bullet did.(I'm Not saying that they're bad coasters)
I'm sure it will though, it's on a completely different level than Hydra or Silver Bullet.

How can Raptor's speed be less and length more, but the time of ride is exactly the same?
First off, all these things (especially the time) are approximate. Second, (I am not saying this is the case here) the speed listed is the top speed. It is possible Raptor could have a higher average speed.
Thats what I was wondering. I assume that (because the speed was listed as approximate) Patriot will actually be faster off the first drop (59-62mph), but have a much lower average speed, since it is the same length (time-wise).
Brandon
Patriot seems to have a lot of swooping over-banked turns which will cause the train to slow considerable at the crest and bring down the average speed. It looks like it'll be a good ride though, I especially like that first drop into the loop and back under the lift.

Unless I'm wrong, patriot does not have 5 inversions like said earlier. As far as I can tell, there is only 4...
Raptor's ride time is 2:32
Anyway... all of the Cedar Fair inverts are similar. Silver Bullet even has the EXACT same inversions as Raptor. The only major difference is... Raptor is the only one with a block brake and three trains. *** Edited 9/7/2005 7:39:47 PM UTC by Rider***

From the looks of it, that "over-banked" turn looks like an inclinded loop.

Well we all know the reason Cedar Point has 3 trains for Raptor. If they didn't the line would be chaos. More chaos then what you see when the park just opens for the day.
This is a big year for B&M. It does look like Talon too much but it has a cool layout and footprint.

I don't get that myself. Talon and Patroit just have many of the same elements in the same order, but almost all the other B&M coasters do too.
