im from rhode island but my mom is originally from milan ohio. that side of my family still lives there. its only 15 minutes away from the park and the company my uncle works for "hull" i believe is the name. he is one of the head guys for the company and he said that they have no idea whats being built, they are just told where to dig and where to pour the cement. i dont think anyone knows anything about this project but the people at CP

Wow nice story. Could be true. My uncle works for EBlueprint and he did something with MF blueprints and we all new. So i guess it depends what part of the construction your doing.
If that's true (I'm not saying it's not or anything) then CP must be building something amazing. I just can't wait to see more construction pics that Walt or Aaron take of the construction site and the track. I wonder when the supports will start showing up.

Well if your uncle did do MF blueprints, he would obiously know what is being built.

I sent Walt pics and video that i took of the site and the staging area. I guess he either hasn't had time to post them, or didn't want to post them. But I have them on my site as well. They were taken during CoasterMania.

Sorry Walt. Didn't see that post. :) I know how the work thing can be. Because of CoasterMania last week I only had 3 days to get my normal ammount of work done. I ended up working 7am to 7pm Tue, Wed and Thu.

I think your right on that, and also another thing is that CP I don't think wants any other parks to know about this coaster. If word leaks out to early (keyword early) you never know a park might copy them or make something else that is bigger, or wahtever record CP is going for. This coaster I think is going to amaze a lot of people. I want a 500ft. that a good 500ft., but I want it to work, and it probably won't happen.
Plus how to they know what type of stuff they need to put down if they don't know what it is? I'm, saying how do they now where to put the supports down, or other stuff down?
Depends on what kind of workers you are talking about. Right now the only work really being done on site is this... Construction guys are given the locations and types of footers needed. With this knowledge only, all they know is where a layout of footers is going. We can all see the footers and we have seen many people connect the dots, and pretty much none of us knows what it is, neither do they. The other work being done right now is storing track. The only knowledge this takes is... A truck pulls into a fenced area, a crane unloads the truck and places that piece in either a predetermined or random spot on the ground. Once again no knowledge needed. The only people through this process that will really know whats being built ahead of time are... CP management and privledged people, Intamin, and possibly whoever will be doing the actual track assembly. (not just workers pouring concrete and setting rebar) The people putting down supports also dont have to really know anything. Support A1 goes on Footer A1 oriented in said direction. Its not like you need to know that you are building whatever type of coaster to do that. Remember, these guys are just doing a job. Im sure some of them are curious, but im also willign to bet some of them really dont care. They are there to do a job, and do it on time, not to sit around and wonder what kind of coaster it may be. That bit of the solving is left up to us. As has been said many times, I guarantee that everyone figures it out by September 1st. And other than that dont count on knowing anything.

I work in construction and find that hard to believe. When a contractor bids on a job, they need to know everything about the project and see all the specs and plans. You just don't agree to do work for something and not know what it is, that doesn't make any sense.
Sometimes in construction, contractors go through an "orientation" before starting his/her first day of work on the job site. Depending on the job, all contractors are to sign and abide to certain rules and sometimes confidentiality agreements. If any of these job site regulations are violated, discipilinary action is taken on that person (i.e. First offense is a verbal warning, then a written report of the incident and notifying your supervisor, finally getting kicked off the job for good).
There are probably other contractors out there who are not working on Project 2007, but do know a lot about the job (Those that did not win the bid for work).

yes your right, my uncle is not THE head guy. the highest person in this company may know whats going on, but his workers doing the job dont have to know at all.
I work for a company who is handling alot of the electrical material for this job, and I can tell you from talkling with them, that there was no bidding on this job. The contractors were chosen by CP. Firelands electric have been CP's work for many years now, and CP knows that they can be trusted for a secret about a job.
Ride-on
Okay, so even if the job wasn't open for bidding, the contractors still know what's being built. You can preach all of this "he said she said" non-sense, but everyone involved with Project 2007 knows what's going on.

guys digging holes and pouring cement dont ahve to know anything as long as they are told what to do...so prove it
i agree with kylerpark. i manage construction on big projects on a regular basis. and i guarantee you that the workers have drawings for the entire job. you don't give them a drawing for ONE footing and say build this. that's just ridiculous. and, anyone that believes that has never been involved in any type of construction project ever.
the people building this thing know exactly what they're building.
