Work on the Island, any logical explanation?

Well, after riding MF a few times yesterday it's clear they are trying do something there. Right now there is bit of leveled land under the turn after the 3rd hill. Whether it has anything to do with #16 remains to be seen. The only thing I can think is they are storing excess dirt there from the current site or the just like to play with their dirt. Does anyone have any better theories?
Last weekend when I was there (21st & 22nd), I ran into someone who everyone knows at the park (jump all over me for saying that, go ahead). He said no one at the park except "higher ups" know what it is, and he said that they would be starting construction on the island very soon. I could've sworn I saw a crane on the island in the webcam around last Monday 23rd or Tuesday 24th in the afternoon. BUT......MAYBE this work is being done for the "renovation" mentioned for Paddle Wheel Cruise (I hope it's dinosaur-themed). There sure is a lot of room on the island from the various satellite views available. Time will tell!

Not very likely for MF Island structuring... dirt was moved, but probably to fill in the lagoons...
Simple... MF is sinking and they are trying to save it. ;)

Sorry I just couldn't resist.

The dirt that CP put by MF's turnaround is for the construction area. If you hadn't noticed already, they have add quite a bit of dirt where they poured footers earlier this month.

As for the new coaster, I can see an over-banked-corner rearing in there. maybe a few hills and a turnaround of some sort. but it's somewhat narrow so it would be fairly hard to use.

Dont forget that they are doing work with Paddlewheel. They drained part of the lagoon and are in the process of filling it in. So they probly have to rework some of PWE's route. I think it would be cool for some of this ride to end up on the island but if not oh well.

You would think they would have some settling problems if they built on that lagoon?

I'm not sure I think anything will be built there for a while.

Well from what i have been told by people who have been going to CP longer than I, the lagoon has changed several times. Its to my understanding that parts of it actually branched out to lake Eire. So if they changed it before im guessing they arent hesitating on changin' it again. Im excited to see how big of a face lift this ends up to be.
Mysjivus1 , PWE does not go through the area in your photo. It hasn't used that part of the lagoons since before ID.

the smaller rivers that go under MR and SRF used to go out into the lake.
ok... so the pic we took of the "filling lagoon" is from a diff part of the lagoon... but there are footers where they used to store the PWE boat... we just couldnt get close enough to get a picture of it...
