Well good luck to you, but are you also hoping to get chosen in the Winter Chillout lottery?

Yeah, I think the chances of getting chosen are kinda low. But I kinda wonder about the actual math behind choosing and our chances.

Seems like a lot of folks are balking at the $90 price, which is a good thing given the demand-to-availability ratio. I've seen more than a few people say they entered but don't think they'll actually go if chosen, so even if anyone doesn't win the first round of the lottery there's a decent chance of additional rounds.

Brandon

I was selected last year in one of the subsequent rounds. But by that time had already made other plans for that day which I didn't want to change. So I didn't go to the winter chill out.

Until they say all tickets are sold out, you still have a chance if you entered the lottery.

I didn't enter this year, the price was only a minor influence on the decision. TT2 was listed as the main attraction. I feel like I've already seen it at last years chillout, all through the 2023 season, on LEL's videos, and I'll be riding it a lot this year.

I don't mind giving someone else a chance to see the laundry room.

What was last year's price? Guessing it was much lower than this year's $90.

I have to add last year, but...

I was expecting more than a $15 increase if people are balking at it. But in reality if it only went up by $1 people would still squawk about it.

Looks like it is only 1 day this year where last year it was 2 days. Were they not able to fill all of the spots last year? It seems if the demand was there they would keep it at 2 days. Or maybe the logistics of a 2 day event are too cumbersome?

Given the overwhelming demand for this event, I imagine the park prefers doing only one day to reduce their cost & time commitment, and figures they can overcome lower volume with higher margin.

Also, people are complaining that only "a portion" of the event proceeds are going to GKTW, whereas in prior years it was stated that "all proceeds" went to GKTW. As if it's some moral failing that the park wouldn't want to eat 100% of the cost of putting this event on.

Philanthropy is expensive.

For being an event that is literally called Chill Out, it's maybe the least chill event on the calendar. And that includes Coastermania!

I went in 2012 and haven't been since but I'm going for it this year. With a pregnant wife and wild three year old at home, this guy needs a day to himself.

Has Cedar Point communicated when the drawing will occur or when folks will be notified?

Jeff da Beat, I haven’t heard anything. I’ve been checking my e-mail all afternoon and most of the evening and nothing yet. Hopefully, they will let the winners know soon, but it might take them a little bit to go through all of the entries to check for duplicates, time will tell 🤞🏻

I received the email this morning. Bought 2 tickets. Never been to one so looking forward to it.

They give people 24 hours to order tickets. So that process will take some time in terms of determining how many people do not buy and selecting another group of people for the remaining tickets. I looked back at my emails and I received an email on February 17th last year saying the lottery was done but they had a small number of tickets available on a first come, first served basis. I remember clicking on "buy now" to see if they were still available and they were but my schedule had changed so I couldn't go. And I remember trying again about an hour later and they were all gone.

Got the email too. Booked for 10:00. Can’t wait!
