Yeah, I look forward to that in the off-season......but that's still 80 something days away.

I hate getting a new photo... those ungodly lines... You wait in a line as long or longer than Millennium Force and there isn't even a coaster to ride. I got a decent photo about 3 years ago, and I just keep renewing.

Going in April to get our season passes is something that we've been doing since 1984. Hassle or not, I'm going to keep doing it. At least for me, it's a case where tradition outweighs other available options.
Count me as someone who actually likes the obligatory April visit. Just seeing the park again, feeling the lake breeze, gets me pumped for the remaining weeks until Opening Day.

Going to the Season Pass center is something I just started doing last year, but plan on doing from now on. I found it to be quite enjoyable, even if the park isnt open. My friends and I just went to the park, got our passes, stopped at Battery Park to do some sight seeing then went to Applebees for dinner. A simple but fun trip.
Not to mention that, if you're lucky, you can watch maintenance take out some stuff from the pavilions. Last year, on the 1st day the SPC opened, I watched maintenance take out Witches' Wheel's carriages.

I really want to get a season pass this year but am not sure how to go about doing it. I'll buy my stuff online, but it isn't practicle for me to drive 2 or more hours just to process it. Then, when I'm there on Opening day I don't want to wait in a huge line. So, now I don't know what I should do. Any suggestions?
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Congratulations on Adams 3,000 post! Rock on Dude! Just kidding, but good job. I have a long long way to go. Yeah speaking of the season pass line, I would recommend not getting it on Opening Day if your planning on buying it opening day. I waited like 2 1/2 hours just to get my picture taken. And thats counting the first line to the window.
My opinion of Cedar Point during the winter is the same as couple of you other guys said. I wouldn't mind being able to visit Cedar Point and see everything. I mean I would probably be there maybe 2 hours, but that's ok. Looking at the winter pictures though, I like using my imagination thinking everything is running smoothly, people laughing and having fun, and enjoying the sights and sounds of Cedar Point. I've Imagined a few times people screaming wildly on Maverick, I guess that's the best daydream right there. :)
Thanks Shawn!:)
I would say go, it's worth it. It may not seem practical, but you do not want to get caught in this. You dont have to drive there and leave as soon as you get your pass. Drag some friends along and do some other stuff in Sandusky, it's fun! Or if you cant get anyone to go, meet up with somebody.......speaking of which, I was thinking about a possible meeting at the center in April if anyone is interested. It's still 3 months away so we have time to decided yay or nay.

I would love to try meeting up with you again. We came very close last year and want that chance again. I still plan to go this year, but not sure how I'm paying for my pass yet. That's OK we have 109 days to go. Adam the next time me and you are at the park at the same time, we should meet at Millennium Force. I thought of that one just because thats where you spotted me last year. :)
Yup Adam, that's the picture I've seen and made me decide I won't be buying my pass on opening day. I guess I could make a day trip. If I left mid morning I could be back home in time for dinner. Meeting up does sound like a cool idea. We should talk more about that when it gets closer to that time.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Living 3 hours away, It works best for me to send in my voucher and just renew by mail. Although the one day outing in April has crossed my mind...
Also, It's funny that you bring up CP dreams. I haven't had many since I stopped working there, but the other night I did have my first real Maverick dream. The line was like 2 hours, and it looked really slow watching it, and when I finally got to the front of the line I was shocked at how padded the OTSRs were. It was like two red pillows on both sides of my head... I don't remember much about the ride in my dream. I do remember the first drop, and I remember not being impressed at all... It felt like Corkscrew's drop, where you don't gain much speed on the hill at all.
Hope the real thing is much different.

I'm with some of the others on here, going in April to do the season pass thing has become a tradition. I did renew by mail once a few years ago, and I still ended up driving out there with a friend when they went to get their pass. Last year I went on a Friday evening and got there during a downpour about 30 minutes before they closed. Absolutely no wait, but the downside was the fact that it was raining so hard we couldn't even see Raptor from the parking lot.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I remember that day. I was stuck in a dumpster trying to keep dry.
The past two seasons I have always gone up the Saturday before opening weekend to get my pass, though I may go up two weekends before this year, just to keep it during the same time frame. Last year my mom and I decided to check out the Castaway Bay waterpark after we had gotten our passes since they had that season pass holder deal going on then. Maybe this year I'll check out Kalahari. If anyone wants to meet up the weekend before opening, or the weekend before that weekend (if that made any sense) that would be awesome.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
^^ And where exactacly was this dumpster and what possed you to climb into it instead of finding something closer to a building or maybe a car?
There was nothing around. Don't you think I would have thought about something other then a dumster? But it was ok, the dumpster was only used for one thing. And its not trash. So it was not bad at all. When it starts to hail, you will find whatever is close to get your head out of that.
