Is it really that impossible to think about the fact that winter maintenance includes things like turning lights on, moving vehicles around, painting, replacing concrete or pavers, etc.?

Well I just wondered because they did it at night.

Opening Day 2015 : Rougarou - Front Seat!
Well when you want to make sure all the lights work properly having them on at night is a great and simple way to do it.
Since the park has closed I have scene the Gondola in a few different positions even all the way up top. Considering the issues from Knott's this doesn't seem to surprise me to see them working on it. Why shrink wrap and winterize a ride the it's brother's have a problem with to fix.
They're on for a special event this weekend. They'll be off on Monday.

I've been involved with that project in the past. They usually just taxi the airplane from a gate to another gate at Hopkins airport but this year they decided to go airborne. They asked Cedar Point to turn on the lights for the kids. It's a great story every year.
Here's a really nice story about it if anyone's interested,

Usually? I've been at the park several years when they've done this.

United does the same thing and they always took off, Continental never actually took off. Now that they've merged, Cleveland decided to actually take off this year. They haven't in the past, I can assure you that. Just look at the News Net 5 article in my last post that you didn't read.
Maybe you're thinking of something else?

That's so great that Cedar Point turned the lights on for this event. It's great that they could contribute in some way to help make the flight for these kids an unforgettable one.
So watching a plane fly overhead while standing in the park with the lights on was my imagination? Granted it has been a few years, but I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine it.

I don't think Maverickoo said you never saw it happen, however since he said he's been a part of that project in the past, and the news article even states the same as he, I don't see how it could have happened. Maybe you possibly saw a different commercial flight or a different charity event?
Yes, United has always taken off. Continental, out of Cleveland, never did.

Well I guess that pins down one of the years I was there.

According to the Knott's Berry Farm website, WindSeeker will reopen February 1.

Well I would think that if they fix the problems at Knott's, it'll be implemented at all the parks. I don't think any of the other WindSeekers open until mid-March anyway.

I might be the only one, but I feel like WindSeeker was a waste of time and was just put up because a lot of other Cedar Fair parks have the ride. I've been to Cedar Point a few times since the WindSeeker opened and it is rarely open. Then, with everything that happened at Knott's... it may make people think twice about getting on it anyway.
