So I have made up my mind just to go ahead and head to the point sunday, with 13 mph winds forecasted from the SE. Was anybody there yesterday? How did the wind affect the rides? I read gatekeeper was down all day until like 6, and I was looking at the webcams the past hour and I have only seen activity from Maxair all morning. I really hope this isn' going to ruin my trip Sunday.
Yeah, I was up there yesterday. Gatekeeper was shut down until about 5:30. Misc. coasters like the Maverick periodically shut down at different points. Mean Streak, Skyhawk, and Windseeker were down all day. It didn't seem like there was ever alot of wind.... just enough to slightly rustle your hair.
Forecast looks a little better the next few days after today. My finger are crossed since we're heading there this weekend.
We're going on Sunday as well.
It's the only possible day until September we can go, so fingers crossed the weather is good and things are running.
I'm going on Sunday too. It seems like a lot of us are going on Sunday. Really hoping the weather is good and there's little to no wind.
I'm going on Sunday as well. It does seem a lot of us will be there then, so much for the short lines I was hoping for! :)
Hoping for good weather and all the rides operating!!
Ride on!
Wind forecasts are somewhat less reliable than general weather forecasts. Won't know until you get there. Hope for the best and roll with the punches.
I will also be there on Sunday-Wednesday. I am hoping for the best. As of right now, it looks like there will be a bunch of rain coming thru. I guess I will have to wait and see. Weather moves out here in Indy pretty quickly.
Hey, we're from Indy too!
On the webcam right now it looks like Windseeker is running (or at least testing) and GK is not.
ETA: Now gatekeeper is at least testing.
I'm going this Friday, so if anyone wants to buy a FLP ticket with me so its cheaper then ill be there.
I'm going tomorrow and will get to the park around 4pm (I have to leave after school's over for the day) and I really hope it isn't windy. I'm not even gonna talk about opening day and how few rides were open by the time I got there. Plus the past few days haven't been nice either. As long as tomorrow will be like today (warm, sunny, dry, and low winds) then I'll be happy. I haven't been on GK yet so I hope tomorrow will be the day. Let's also hope crowds won't be too bad.

It turned out to be a perfect day! It was fairly crowded.... an hour for Millenium and Dragster, and an Hour for Gatekeeper. Surprisingly, Maverick had an hour and a half wait which was more than Gatekeeper. The sun was hot and it was fairly humid. Later on though, It got cold and windy but most everything stayed running except for windseeker and skyride. The best part of the night though was around 6:30 when dragster broke down and everyone left, but it quickly got running and only had a 20 minute wait, so we rode that twice in a row and the headed over to gatekeeper expecting a long wait, but it was only 20 minutes! Awesome and rare occurance for a brand new ride. So we rode that twice in a row and it was awesome, I made it on the last train of the night in the front seat. Overall awesome day!
I was there on Sunday, too. Strangely enough, the longest line I had to wait in was the season pass picture line. xD Still, it was a gorgeous day and with the crowds down, I'm pretty sure I got to go on everything I wanted to and have time to walk around and enjoy the little shops.
