Will MaXair make you sick?

Ok...so if I sometimes get sick on "spinny carnival rides" should I be worried about taking a ride on maXair? I would think that a lot of people are like myself in that they are all right riding huge coasters like Top Thrill Dragster but puke at the sight of Chaos. If that is the case...is MaXair a safe bet or a sure fire ticket to the bathroom?

IF you can make it to the bathroom.:)
Anyway, Download the video(on the Huss website below) that shows what it's like to ride in one and think to yourself if you'll get sick.

In my opinion....IT LOOKS FUN!

It'll probably make me sick but o'well I still have to atleast try it, you wont know unless you ride it.....

Top Thrill Dragster....Always number one

Well, you really cant say for sure...

Huss engineered this ride to be light on the senses, so if you have a medium-high tollerance...then you should be ok.

Noone can really say for sure..

When I rode Delirium, you could barely notice the spinning part once you get going. It's mostly the swinging back and forth that you notice. *** Edited 4/13/2005 9:08:25 PM UTC by PKevin2004***

I'm pretty sensitive to motion sickness myself. Roller coasters are OK, rides like Troika and Monster are OK once or twice. Forget about Chaos or Witches' Wheel.

I've been told that this isn't a motion sickness type of ride. From other descriptions, I suspect my tolerance for maXair will be the same as it is for Monster and Troika. I really can't say for sure, though, until I ride it.

Read RideMan's article... it has a breakdown on where the force (bad pun intended) is exerted.

At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs. Was the something out there?... A mysterious force at work? Beyond words. Beyond comprehension. Beyond, beyond beyond… A natural force simply known as, Millennium Force. The future is riding on it.…

Walt, that's the exact opposite of me. I can't stand Troika and Monster (although Monster I think the load/unload times had a role....talk about inefficient) and I absolutely love WW and Chaos.

Some spinny rides I can't stand (add Scrambler to that list started above) but I'm really looking forward to maXair. This should be a fun ride to experience.

I would ride any roller coaster and that won't make me sick but if I ride like a merry-go-round it makes me like dizzy, anything that spins bothers me.

I've been on the one at Kings Island, and it was a blast. Then again, I have absolutely no motion sickness at all. In reality, the ride doesn't spin all that much, and the rotation definitely isn't very fast at all. I got a lot of the stomach flipping sensation that you get on roller coasters.

Delirium does not make me feel sick a bit. It is very amusing, theyre not trying to make you vomit.

Have you ridden Delirium? It's the most intense sensory overload I've ever experienced on a flat ride.

Will it get most people sick? Probably not after one ride. But if you ride a few times in rapid succession the cycle of going from nearly weightless to pulling high g's to weightless and back again will start to take a toll on you.

Normally it's not motion that causes folks to hurl, it's the continually changing forces. That would be why the "Vomit Comet" is called the Vomit Comet.

Another issue that often leads to motion sickness (and which is the one bit that can often do me in...) is the problem of when what your eyes see and what your ear is sensing don't match up. I don't find that to be a problem on Delerium. I do find it to be a problem on Raptor if I don't get a "window" seat. And many people used to have trouble with that in the Cedar Point Cinema.

For me, any of the "Carnie Rides" make me sick to me gut in my old age. Matterhorn? Scrambler? Yeah, gimmie a bucket. I uesd to be able to do those, but anymore, not so much.

I was worried about Chaos when I went last year, but was dragged on by the hottie I went with. Warned her up & down that I may toss my Macaroni's spag&sauce, but she demanded that I go on. I'll tell ya, Chaos is now one of my faves. I think it was because the ride went all the hell over the place that I didn't feel ill. I think that's what'll keep me from heaving on maXair.

Plus, it looks like a boatload of fun. :+)

If I'm in the right seat on Delerium, I'm done for the next 30 min or so. Two years ago at BeastBuzz I was in such a seat for three consecutive rides, so didn't really enjoy the rest of my rides that night. My problem is the big downswing when your facing backwards. I can't take a lot of positve G's in that manner and it gets me every time. The ride is still way fun but for me it's not something I could camp out on.

In my old age, I find that Witches Wheel gets to me now, although not badly...it just throws my equilibrium off for a bit.

Some of the more spinny rides like Calypso or Tiki Twirl can do it too, but Scrambler, Troika and Tilt-a-Whirl take a couple of rides.

Chaos and Delirium I can ride over and over with no problem.

maXair is testing this morning. Whoo whoo!

Tiki Twirl! That was always the ride to go on before a visit to Jungle Larry's.

Anyway, I've been known to drop a Dramamine II (the non-drowsy kind) a half-hour before hitting a string of rides that mess up the equilibrium. After those, then take a break on the beach or catch a show to get your sea legs back.

Getting sick is the last thing you will think about when this ride starts moving. Hold on tight and brace yourself cause May 7 is only three weeks away!

To a worker that used to work on Monster i would like to see you try to put those pins in and make sure they do not fall out. Plus you got guests who cant read numbers!!!!!!!

Its the whole process due to the build of the ride. You load this group, and then rotate, and we sit there while you load the next 8 and then do it again and THEN we finally get to ride the ride. Its not the workers fault (most of the time) its just the ride itself. Thankfully, we were in the first group loaded, so we were first unloaded, that made things a little better (but not much)
