Will April SNOWshowers delay TTD's opening?

My local weather forcast says we're supposed to get several inches of snow (I thought we were through with that! :( ), with the brunt of it at the Michigan-Ohio state line. If CP gets a lot of snow, will it hamper the testing of TTD? I sure hope not, but I'll be calling CP near Opening Day to find out if TTD will be open then. Or hopefully CP will keep an update about it on their website near Opening Day.

Opening Day is just 27 days away!!!

I think that all depends if they they're ready to test in the first place. If they're not ready, then this latest blast of bad weather shouldn't hamper them a bit. If they wanted to test this week, then they'll be delayed a few days. Nonetheless, progress will still be made on non-ride aspects of the project like the photo booth or the grandstands.

It's hard to believe that opening is less than a month away now. It still looks like they have a lot of work yet to do. I sure do hope they have a lot of sunny days ahead to get her ready to go!
The weather will not delay them in any way at this point. I would think any testing could be done in the rain/snow.

Do you think CP would say on opening day 'I am sorry but TTD will not be open today due to a show shower in April."?

From looking at the cams, it appears they didn't get the snow anyhow... although we have over 6 inches here in midmichigan and it's still coming down... *dreams of summer*

I just looked at weather.com. The north coast of OH is under the freeze line so it's doubtful that we will get any serious snow today. Plus, the system is pushing to the NE with dry skies to the south.

That's it for the weather. Here's Skip with sports! :)

Yup, it looks like (according to the weather channel, and the webcam) the snow will not affect Cedar Point. And the rest of the week should be nice and mild.

*looks outside....looks like January....* Is it May yet?

And now a look at sports….

Word leaked today that Wee Wee Willy, of the Dragster Constructors, has announced his retirement from webcam watersports.

“I decided that nothing will ever top my experience of being the most notable webcam leaker in history, and felt it best to quit while I was ahead” explained Wee Wee Willy. When asked what he planned for the future, he replied “I’m going to Disneyworld!”

If the park opens in may, and the rides are operating in may, it will be open in may.

And now to local news:

In other news today, Cedar Point annouced that yes, they are building a new ride, and yes, getting off of the computer and going outside IS healthy for you, and with that, we send it to Health News.......

Point being: May will come, and so will TTD

Anyways on topic again I don't believe that Cedar Point will have TTD open on opening day. I if they do I think there will be a riot. Although I’ve heard that if it’s too cold on opening day they will close the ride. Then we would have some real news on here.

It will be open for May 4th. Sure, there's a lot of work left to do, but they will pull it off. I'm pretty sure we'll see them working on it 24 hours a day from now on.

It will be open May 3rd.

This topic should be closed. There is absolutely no way it will not be ready. 0% chance.
Does this look like a Six Flags park to you? Definitely will be open. Not sure about how many trains though, because they might have a problem with one not having enough test hours.

Interesting little thing I learned, we will never see TTD running with less than 4 trains at a time. The computer requires it.

Years of preparation go into a coaster like this. Considering the crazy weather here in Ohio, I'm sure the weather has been takin into consideration. No need to fret:)

I also find this interesting. Any take on why that is?

I would assume it would be to keep the trains in the pairs of two in loading and two in unloading. If you think about it, it might be a little awkward to run an odd number of trains, but I'm sure it is able to do five.

My 2 cents is thats how Cedar Point asked to have the computer set up to keep up capacity.
