Will anyone be at the point on Father's Day

I shall re-post a previous post..thoughts/comments appreciated.

I originally posed a question relating to the unoffical, non-endorsed "Gay Day" event last month in this very forum, and instead of answering my basic question (it was never answered...LOL)...it turned into a heated political debate.

Let's be refreshed on the stupidity and ignorance, shall we? Let's shall!

QUOTE - "To have a day specifically designated by that group for them to "overtake" the park and think it's OK to do whatever cause it's "my day", that's a problem."

Cedar Fair, LP Inc. does NOT endorse this event. They are in no way, shape or form associated with it. It is organized by various LGBT organizations throughout the United States. It is typically held on Father's Day each June. At one point in time, the LGBT community was encouraged to wear red (same as you would wear one color if with a church, reunion, etc..), however this tradition has fallen to the wayside in recent years.

QUOTE- "It all comes down to what is socially acceptable and what isn't in the society today. Two dudes ramming their tounges down eachother's throats in front of a 7 year old is wrong, no matter what way you look at it. If the gay community wants to make a specific day for them to gather at CP then fine, but don't expect special treatment because "you" made it "your day" there."??"

Who is to truly say what is and what isn't socially acceptable? When it comes to morality, both heterosexuals and homosexuals have equal guilt. The blame needn't lie with one particular sexual preference. AND....The LGBT community has never specifically inquired for "special treatment" whilst at the park. We expect to be treated as EQUALS.

QUOTE- "Okay, but a kid wouldn't think anything of a girl and guy kissing, because the kid has a mom and dad, not 2 guys."

Another assumption. Many homosexual couples raise healthy, well adjusted children. Who is to say that they have a mom and dad when they "may" have two daddies or two mommies? We all know what the first 3 letters of assume spell. If you have the unfortunate experiences of seeing PDA's regardless of sexual preference,...then that gives you the opportunity to discuss the topic to your child and educate them as to the reality of homosexuality.

"Gay Day" is NOT an official park endorsed event. If you feel threatened, offended, angry, scared, emasculated and the like....then that is unfortunate for you and you should truly educate yourself on the LGBT community. That is one less day of Cedar Point summer fun due to ignorance. For the rest of you, LGBT and our supportive straight friends...hooray for you and let the fun begin!!

Then why start it again?
