Wildcat Death?

About a month ago I received some disturbing news from my friend that had gotten back from a recent CP trip. He said that he witnessed a death on the WIldcat. It was an older man(late 60''s or early 70's) that had died from a heart attack. I was surprised that I did not see anything about it on this forum and stated to wonder if it had actually happened. I wondered if anyone had heard about it.
If this actually turns out to be a false rumor please do not get all mad at me, I truly do not beleive the story either but do not 100% doubt it either.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Are your ready for some speed? We've got 120 miles per hour! Are you ready to get vertical? We've got 420 feet. Are you ready for the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world?! ARE YOU READY FOR TOP THRILL DRAGSTER?!?
I have not heard anything about a death on Wildcat this year. That isn't to say it hasn't happened though.

There were two deaths on Wildcat back in the 90's. The first in 1994 and the second in 1996. Both were the results of an anneurism (which is a bizarre coincidence). If I remember one of the deaths was a kid on a school trip. The other person was with family and I think was also a young person.

It seems to happen about once every other year. While unfortunate and sad, I don't find it particularly news-worthy.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

I don't recall hearing anything about it. There was a death recently at Holiday World, Indiana. :(

With as many people as CP gets, it's not surprising that a few die of heart attacks, either on or off a ride. It's just a fact of life.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Unfortunately with some illness, such as arteries or veins weakening. Most people don't or won't know about these things until it is to late.

I can tell you that i worked at the wildcat all summer long and while i was there I never saw someone die for any reason. So the only way i can see this being ture is if he left the ride and died elsewhere or it happend on my day off and they did a really good job covering it up.

I think that if a person dies from a hidden medical condition, it cannot be blamed on the ride. The death would have happened sooner or later, as coasters are not the only causes of stress, or unusual forces on the body.

On a side note, I would like to say that 2003 was my first year riding the Wildcat, and every time I rode it, the crew kicked serious butt! They seemed like one of the most efficient, and enthusiastic crews in the park, and made the ride a lot of fun.

...and also not worth dragging this post up from the past.
