What is the tape trick you guys are going on about?

I guess I am adorable since I don't know how to beat the tape trick. I looked it up and the only two solutions that I saw were to remove the hinge pins or pay someone to redo the tape. The hinge idea certainly does not seem very plausible to me - have you ever removed the hinge pins from a lightweight interior door, let alone a heavier hotel door? Moving the door without pulling the tape off does not seem very realistic to me. And paying someone to replace the tape does not seem very trustworthy to me. Who is to say the person doesn't take the money and run?

How do you defeat it?

You simply tear off all the tape from every door and blame it on a random person going down the hall,
Or just climb the balconies. Careful climbing balconies, wear a condom, safety first.

Y'all are thinking too much into this.

It’s such a simple solution, but so genius at the same time. I wouldn’t have been surprised if my high school teachers contacted the hotel manager or whoever and checked the security footage in the hall.

The fun way to do it is to dress up like spider man so you can reseal the tape from the outside then climb up the outside to get into your room...please film of you try

The easy way is a metal coat hanger bent at 90 degrees when you renter the room you can hold the tape out so it does not end up in the door jam
