Wicked Twister questions...

I am watching the coaster on the cam and I see it only goes up 5 times. That seems like a short ride to me. Since they cut it off at 5, one end of the train gets only 2 times up. How is that right?

Also, why don't they send the trains to the top of the twisted track instead of part ways?

And why only one-train operation for the past few years? Talk about a capacity nightmare.

Not right.

Because it is yellow. Not right.

Done right it would have a sliding platform like Mr. Freeze.

This sounds like a question for the Make Me Whole department.

Maybe your complaint can get the black shirt higher-ups to reprogram the ride.

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

Have all y’all seen the new Intamin Impulse over in China? A bit taller and faster than Wicked Twister (and same color as WT). Uses the new style Intamin track. No OTSRs, just a lapbar. It uses LSM instead of LIM. And it goes up EIGHT times; 4 forward and 4 back! I hope the new Impulse design works out, I’d love to see a couple new ones closer to home!

I think the whole train goes up the same amount no matter now many times it goes up…or something. Stupid middle seats getting extra rides

First ride; Magnum 1994

I actually thought Coasterhawk was clowning around with this thread but if you're serious, it's always been 5 launches.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Passing out is no fun.

Maybe some of my questions seem silly, but I am not clowning around. I know you guys like to talk about these things and these things pop into my head.

In its first season, twister used to go higher up, especially on the first backwards pass. I think the reason that they had to slow it down a bit was due to more stress on the track than originally intended.

I think you're right but it has always been only 5 launches.

Coasterhawk, I think I have warmed up to your questions. Your ability to not take jokes personally is the sign of a seasoned P-Buzzer.

From my understanding, they also added supports to the ride during the ride's first season to provide greater structural integrity. Someone with greater park knowledge than myself would be able to tell the story much better, but I recall hearing stories of guests being "freaked out" because workers would be seen welding at the ride during off-hours, leading to speculation about the ride's safety.

With a ride like Wicked Twister at a park like Cedar Point, capacity is an immediate concern. I personally like the ride a lot (the best seat is easily in the back of the train), and it's always felt like "enough" after five trips. The first is a fun launch, being launched backwards is a unique rush, and I swear even today the ride feels a lot taller than it is from that back seat, especially after the second backwards launch to the peak of its spike.

Do any of the rows actually make it to 200’?

The very back sure feels like it, but I honestly couldn't say.
