Wicked Twister Midway post maXair/games revamp

Not only did maXair open up the entire midway, it made the area look a lot better. So, now that maXair had a full season of operation, has the WT midway finally get some crowds? Do you think the area looks better (how could you say no)? Any other thoughts on this topic.

During my three trips to the park maXair was only open twice and I didn't hang around the area much during peak hours, so I don't know.

It was day and night between this season and last. Even DT got some action from the revamp. If only they could do something with that huge pointless water stadium...

Well, they DO have water shows every once in a while ;-).

Good topic Gomez. I definately think that area has seen a lot of action just with addition of maXair. The line for Wicked Twister last year was probably half the size as it was this year, which from the park's perspective is a very good thing.

On that note, I think they're going to be leaving that area alone for a while. From 2000-2005, that midway went from having a warehouse and a big pole to an excellent midway with 6 rides and a newly revamped games area. It looks like they achieved their goal.

I give the revamp two thumbs up. I like the way all the signs above the games area are alike and the lighting effects as well. It's all vibrant coloring which is a total plus. I like to just stand at the closest point in front of maXair and watch it swing and catch that wonderful breeze it creates. :)

I think the Midway looks great...the park did a great job here. I do miss the shorter WT lines though.

CP made a few excellent choices with the new "maXair" midway, and One very bad one. ;)

I think the area looks great, and I know that it has attracted crowds to that area of the park. I noticed a dramatic increase in the lines for Wicked Twister....

cedarpointlover,

Are you refering to TTD? If so, I and many others (including Kinzel), agree. They put a ton of money into constructing it, 5 tons of money into maintaining it YEARLY, and it still does not operate as they visioned.

What else could be a bigger mistake?

Haha, MrScott. I was actually refering to Disaster Transport, but I have to agree with you on Top Thrill Dragster.

cedarpointlover,

Cedar (Fair) Point would be wise to relocate and re-theme DT to MIADV, IMHO. But will they? I doubt it, they think too conservativly for that.

Oh, well...that's why I don't work there. It makes too much sense, and there is a huge risk on ROI.

If I was Upper, I would research this and pull the trigger. Sigh, there are always the Sims...
