I love the suspense and I love when the ride host messes with you! It makes it more fun! "3........2...1" or "3...1...2." If I worked at WT, I would have so much fun with the launch countdown!
"3...2...what comes after 2?"
"10...9...uh oh..1"
lol
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
The fast countdowns are so we could hit Interval. The train is supposed to be halfway through the station going backwards the first time at the metallic "grind" at the end of the auto-spiel music, and the "ping" after that is supposed to happen as the train stalls out on the back spike.
It takes ~2 sec after the button for the LIMs to energize, so we have to time it right. Therefore, if we hit the button immediately to get Interval, we only have 2 seconds to say "Clear, launching in 3, 2, 1."
Unfortunately, we can no longer have fun with launching; it's always "Clear, launching in 3, 2, 1" now.
Not to be confused with Twisted Wicker 08 from 2002

And last year, and the year before that. ;) It's tradition to have fun with the launches... up until you get supervisions attention.. then you go right back to the boring launches. ;)

2004 - Wicked Twister/Top Thrill Dragster
You are required to warn of the launch, and in proper fashion (ie: the boring launch of "3,2,1,*launch*)
Otherwise, it's viewed as a lawsuit waiting to happen. Yes, we coaster junkies might love the rush of not really knowing when the launch will happen.. but the GP doesn't share that same view.

I remember they wouldn't tell you when it would launch on Superman at Six Flags OH. It just kind of happened.
The day Dragster opened, the Christmas tree was not up and neither were the lights on the tower. Who else rode it that day? And, how awesome was that? But yes, that is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I'm not trying to plug my site in anyway here, but here are pictures from opening day 03:

No lights on the tower

The Christmas tree was not completed, and the lights were not operating.

The lights were not on the tower, but the Christmas tree was operating because I saw it with my own eyes.

I remember working on Wicked Twister and my arms were just a little short. Or maybe it was just me. I was trying to press the launch button and speak at the same time. I aparrently didnt push the button all the way down... "Clear launching in 3,2,1 (nothing happening)" lol!! "ooooooooonnnnnnnneeeeeeee"! then it went.
OR
Clear launching in 3,2 (train flies out of station before i say 1) ahahaha *that wasn't on purpose either*
