Wicked Twister

Does anybody else believe that Wicked Twister's restraints are the most restrictive of any large ride in the park? The test seat is horrible (even my thin-to-average friend who fits on that ride with room to spare thinks that), and the ride itself is pretty unforgiving, too (one of two rides I've been walk of shamed on, the other being Woodstock Express at CGA - not the CP one, the CGA one which is like Wilderness Run.) The restraints are even worse than other impulse coasters. In fact, the restraints are worse than WOODSTOCK EXPRESS, which I fit on on Pipe Scream media day. The issue is that somebody has found it necessary to reduce the belts on Wicked Twister to a ludicrously short length. I highly doubt that Intamin would mandate this. The belts appear to have shrunk just this year, at least to me.

Yes, WT is the only ride I've been booted off or not being able to buckle the seat belt. I'm only about 220 size 38-40 waist. All other rides I fit on just fine.

^ +1 . Yeah, i tend not to gravitate towards that ride either, just because of the restraints. My frame is about the same as Thabto, and everytime I try to ride WT, I really have to suck it in to get the belt to click. UGH, what a horrible restrain system.

My only complaint with the ride is the sudden braking. The ride brings you to a near stop on the very short stretch outside the station. That's painful and keeps me from marathoning it. Kinda like Raptor.

You hate the sudden braking, But you don't mind the sudden launch? The braking is just fine. Now Raptor's brake is bad, just like Mantis, but it doesn't keep me from riding Raptor. Mantis...well...there's another thread for that.

Wicked Twister is one of the roller coasters that I have to ride each time I go to Cedar Point. The restraints don't bother me at all.

The only thing "wicked" about the ride is its restraints.

That doesn't even make sense. The acceleration of the launch puts a lot more force on your body than the braking does. Not only that, but the entire force is on your back and gradual. It's not like it causes head banging or something.

I don't have an issue with Wicked Twisters restraints but I'm not that huge of a fan of the ride. The line takes forever and the ride itself is not very enjoyable. Anyone else not that much of a fan?

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

I love Wicked Twister! To me, it's a warm up ride for when I ride Top Thrill Dragster later on in the day. I could easily marathon Wicked Twister If I wanted to, but I'd rather do that on Millennium Force. ;)

I get a headache when I ride Wicked Twister so I haven't ridden it in three or four years.

Shawn, is there a ride that you DON'T like? I'd go on WT more often if I could fit in it better. Maybe I need to take some weight off. I'll be hitting the towpath more now since CVSR is reopened to Akron.

Yes. Corkscrew! That ride beats my head around too much and is too short.

I like Corkscrew! My head never hurts from that. And I can withstand Mean Streak even though most people here can't stand it.

I fit in Wicked Twister today with a fair bit of room. The test seat seems larger too. Can anybody confirm that the restraints have been changed? I didn't lose THAT much weight...

Maybe Tony read your original post from last month and had it changed. ;-)

Not a huge fan of WT, but I do ride it when the line is not too long, which is almost all the time. I was a bigger fan of that other impulse that used to reside east of CP with the straight hold spike.

Steel Venom/Possessed. It technically is still east of CP. Just farther east.

Yeah, I like the floating feeling on Possessed better. Of course, such a relatively small design can only provide a little moment of zero-g. And that is where S:EFK comes in...

Ride 2-1, press feet into the front of the train, pull restraint down give room for shoulders, press shoulders up into them. Put hands ontop of car in front of you, ride just like that, you'll enjoy the hell out of it.

If not following those instructions, refer to original link

^2-1? Do you mean car 2, row 1? Isn't it sort of against the rules to put your arms on the car in front of you? Also, is it true that Corkscrew's "wheel seats" are actually up front instead of back?
