Wicked Twister 04

Does anyone know if CP is doing any modifications to WT for the 2004 season besides over-hauling the train?

TTD 2003: 32
TTD 2004: 0
TTD Total: 32
Rollbacks: 0

Yes of course we do we just aren't telling you. What modifications would they be making? There is NOTHING to modify.

'03 Speed Freaks (Hats n Such)
TTD 72 rides (2 nonpaid rollbacks, 5 paid rollbacks)
TaeKwon-Do First Degree Black Belt. (1st dan)

Don't fix it if it ain't broke

I think that those of you expecting something huge and cool will be disappointed. There isn't a single logical reason to pour a footer and enclose it in an ugly wall for six months.

Jeff, in May of 2002, on the then vacant site of Dogems.

They might have added a function for safeguarding employees more, but it's something that doesn't really affect you if it did...

I wish we could do something different with the sand, but hopefully I won't have to go into the lowzones *too* much this year :P

I've always wondered why they didn't fill in that whole area with concrete, I mean why did they leave those two gaping areas between the station and the start of the spikes with sand? The wind is always blowing it up into your eyes on that ride.

I started a topic a little after closing day about the roughness of the ride returning to the station. I would hope this would be fixed for 04. I know this won't happen but maybe a new program will be ran on the ride.

Also, Sparty, WT may not be broke but there's always room for improvment. I like your signature!!

You'll be happy when the glasses, camera, watch, etc. (that should have been secured) in your pocket fall out and hit the nice sand instead of the cement... We recover, quite frequently, sunglasses that are in tact and still usable with nary a scratch on them. Expensive cams usually break, but the cheapo's fare nicely sometimes and if you get it back at the end of the night you might be able to get them processed still. Watches, unless it's a really expensive one that's durable (G-shocks fair well sometimes), don't fair well in any case, but there IS a rhyme or reason for the sand.

I personally don't notice the 'roughness', but that could just be because I'm used to it... I don't really have a sensative back, but I don't like really rough rides and this doesn't really even register on my rough-dar :P ...

Anyone who complains about WT being rough needs to test ride it first thing in the morning. Then, you'll understand how smooth it actually is when that train has some weight in it.

Same goes, even moreso, for Raptor. Oof, test riding that isn't even close to being fun.

I'm not saying the ride is rough. The train was vibrating on when it was rolling back slowly into the station. The ride itself was very smooth. It might have been a bad day for the ride since it was quite cold. Who knows?

She gets really cranky when it's cold out. Really cranky.

That 'roughness' may be when the LIM's are positioning the train for abuot the last 10-15 ft. It moves it slowy, but not as smooth as could be.

What is over-hauling the train?
I could never understand why it doesn't have the same platform that the Raptor has. I am pretty short and it feels like your ankels are gonna snap off when you jump off that thing.

Because you fly through the station at a high rate of speed... and having it raise/lower each time leads to more things that could possibly go wrong with the ride.

Yeah, take that feeling of your ankles snapping off and picture a movable floor malfunction at 72 mph. You fill in the rest.

Not a risk to take.

Yeah... that's not a good thing to happen... too much automation... it'd probably be *very* difficult to implement with the way the train launches, as well.

Now if they could have it 'off the system' or something it'd eliminate computer error, but what if a ride op forgets. Oops.

Nahhhhh, that never happens. ;)

A moveable floor would be nice, but don't know if they would put it in now, because of how much concrete that was poured for the floor.

I worked WT Fridays for halloweekends of 04. I never found a phone "whole". Lets see.... a teen mobile in 6 pieces, another phone split in 1/2, sunglasses, and a seagull in about 100 pieces lolololol Poor bird
