Why's there no dark rides yet?

Disney does Grad Nights, Spring Break, etc and they have more dark rides than anyone. There are ways of curbing bad behavior. If the ride is good enough, people won't want to get out.

But yes, people have jumped out of the boat in Pirates. In fact, the first day I was on the job at the Jungle Cruise a woman jumped out of a boat in Pirates when she thought the coming drop was larger than it is. She freaked, jumped out, and her husband jumped out after here. He got caught between two boats. Ouch. My first day on the Jungle and I spent an hour or so at Pirates helping them evacuate.

I think the lack of a couple of quality dark rides diminishes what otherwise is an excellent park. And, harping back to my family focus I have been pushing for years...dark rides are a way to accomplish that.

I feel that Snoopy Boutique is the perfect place for one. Peanuts are the perfect theme for a dark ride. Anyone familiar with the comic strip would have a easy time making some kind of story and concept for a ride.

As long as it doesn't turn out like Garfield's Nightmare, I'm cool with that.

Man, after reading all the comments on here I really can't believe that they don't have one. I've never gotten to try one out yet (shooting for KI and Holiday this summer.)

It sounds like a no brainer to me. Are they expensive to build?

Amen. The Old Mill or Hardheaded Harold's Horrendously Humorous Hideaway ( or whatever else they called it) at Kennywood was not only a better ride but way more efficient in handling riders. Wait time has gone from nonexistent to upwards of half an hour on most days.

No one seems to remember that CP can't theme rides and keep them up with the theming. Just like DT. If CP wanted to make a dark fun house ride, they can go right ahead. But the theme will probably only last a month or 2 and deteriorate in some time. It can be themed to snoopy, nick toons, but no matter what they choose and how much kids and families like it, it probably won't last long..:(

Actually, DT's theme didn't start to really deteriorate until 98 or 99. Still only 8 or 9 years, but it certainly wasn't crap within months.

Gomez, Snoopy's Boutique was a dark ride at one point (San Francisco Earthquake), so yes, it would be a perfect place. :)

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Something like Sally Corporation's "Challenge of Tutankhamon" would be an excellent addition to CP. The cars seem to have locking lap bars to keep people in and the cars are trackless so the car can back into different scenes or take different routes depending on how the riders score.

There is an excellent movie about the ride on this page.

I realized that San Francisco Earthquake was there before. It's interesting that the location still makes the most sense for a dark ride.
