why number 2?

as all of you know MF was #2 on the golden tickets, and i was just wondering if anyone has been on superman. Is that ride better, or is everyone else sick of Millie being the best?

I never rode superman but the two rides were very close. I believe MF is still #1 even if the golden ticket awards say it's not. MF #1, TTD #2, Magnum #3, WT #4, Raptor #5, that what I would say.

CP Coaster Guide Ride Count
TTD: 1; WT: 9; MF: 4; Mantis: 3; Raptor: 6; Mean Streak: 5; Magnum: 5

because everyone has their own opinions.
i think it is good for other rides besides one of the tallest in the world to get number one.

Cedar Point, The Roller Coast!!

From everything that I heard about Superman ROS last year, (have not rode it myself), I was shocked that it was not rated #1 last year. MF will return to the top!

MF Circuts=451(03=135)
TTD Launches=27
TTD Rollbacks=5

I have ridden S:ROS. It deserves to be #1.

While similar to MF in track and train design, it has a much more creative layout. The air is more intense, and it has tons more than MF. It also has two smoke-filled tunnels and some great positive-G turns - followed by more air.

Another thing is the trains - the back seats in each car are set a little farther apart, while the front are pushed close together. The back seat view is great. I don't know why they didn't do this on MF.

I love MF, but I would have to agree with the ranking.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

i think since they only gave so many ballots to each region, and ttd took away a lot of the votes from mf.

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

The tunnels on SROS are not smoke filled, it's water mist. My glasses collecteda ll the water they it when the train exited both tunnels and I just had to proclaim "I can't see a thing!". That was a big downer for me on that ride.

Why do I have that problem on Six Flags hypers?? :)

Millennium Force will always be number one in my opinion, even if someday they build a roller coaster 500 feet up..

Millennium Force will still be there...

Of coarse you're right, Scott. I should've said mist filled.

And the glasses thing - the worst cases I've had was on Hulk. It's not like you can take them off and clean them so you can see the rest of the ride.

I don't believe that Millennium Force should have got 2nd, it will always be first to me, and I am sure a lot of people. I have rode SROS and I really didnt like it a lot, Millennium Force was better in anyway that there is..I think that there needs to be foggers inside the MF tunnels, that would be cool!
I'm curious playa21 - what do you find missing in S:ROS that makes MF superior?

------------------
Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

Yeah, foggers would really enhance the ride, but i think the problem is the onride photo. They could do the fog in the first tunnel i guess.

I can see how S:ROS is number 1. The airtime is unbelievable. But the ride is not better in any other way. The Positive G's are extremely weak. Not like MF where you almost hit 5G's on the pull out. The transitions arent as smooth as MF and its more jerky. For me MF is still #1....I'm nost just about the airtime. MF has a bigger WOW factor. The drop and the speed is amazing. Where as SROS is alot slower and the drop is shorter. If you want crazy airtime though....S:ROS is definatly the ride that offers that.

I will take SROS ove MF any day and twice on Sunday. Yes MF's drop and first pullout are far superior but after that it's no contest. I agree it's not just about the airtime, it's the laterals, the helixes, the tunnels, the layout as a whole.

MF was built for a specific reason - world record height and speed - and it accomplished this. But as a well rounded, piece of heaven coaster give me SROS!

Just wondering, how many of the posters here have actually ridden SROS? Hands?

It's as simple as this: S:ROS at SFNE combines all the best qualities of Millennium Force and Magnum. Yes - it's that good. Unfortunately, it is a horribly run ride in a horribly run park and thus it will never sit at the top of my list. But the big blue thing will never be there either. Sorry, I don't want a ride to feel like I'm riding in my sofa so rides like MF, Nitro, and Apollo just don't really rock my world.

Yes last year MF took away the previous years Magnum voters and TTD took away previous MF and Maggie voters...To me Magnum will always be #1 and I was shocked last year when it got kicked out itd 11-year spot but now the CP votes are so split you have to expect it...

It's so ovious! CP built TTD do you think Millennium Force would win if most people changed their vote to TTD?!?!? Most people changed their vote to TTD.
