Why not use the Good Time Theater?

This past weekend, I went to Cedar Point with my mother and my pregnant wife. Both of them could not ride hardly anything. They did ride CP & LE Railroad, Sky Ride, PaddleWheel, Giant Wheel, Space Spiral.

I went thinking we would ride just those rides and watch all the shows. Well, we rode those rides and watched all the shows and they were very good! Kudos to Cedar Point.

My question though is this:

Why not use the Good Time Theater?

If they didn't want to use the actual part of the theater that the Ice show is in, couldn't they use the pre-show stage for something?

The only Major Shows were Aaron Radatz, Chris Lynn, Monsters Rock, and 'A Tale of Terror'. The smaller shows, Gypsy Fortune Tellers, Witches of Witch Hollow, and King Dapper Combo were nice, but there is room for more excitement.

Possibly, the use the theater could bring more fun to the Halloweekends theme. Another Magician would work either in the prestage area or the actual Theater.

Any idea's as to why they don't use it, or what they could put in there if they did use it?

probably budget? i dont know...

i say put in a Blast! style show....that would rock. yes, i know it's not a halloween themed show, but just something i would like.

I think it would be a great location for more scary stories! Very dark, very quiet. Perfect "spooking" ground (with padded seats and heat!!)

There's nothing else "scary" near that location (logistically enticing) and it's totally dark inside so stories could be read throughout the daytime! The glass blowing theater can't do daytime well, and the new screams from Werewolf canyon are disruptive IMHO. Fog, lights, etc., are already in place and could create excellent effect without a lot of extra expense.

It's not easy to use an ice venue for something else. Not only that, but I believe they rent a lot of the lighting for the duration of the show only. Even if they hung on to it, you have to change it like crazy to make it suitable for a different show. Then you'd need to staff it with an entirely new set of performers, just so they could perform a couple of weekends. Not very cost effective.

I personally think there's plenty of live entertainment this time of year.

What time does the water show start?

It would be nice to have another show at teh Good Time Theater during the Halloweekends. But remember that requires staffing, and right now CP staffing is pretty low. I don't think they have the employees to do another live show at this time of the year.
Ice venues are converted for non ice shows all the time. Look at your average civic center or hockey stadium. With ice, a protective mat is laid down, then a wood floor, but I'm sure the park doesn't keep the ice there all winter, so I'm sure they could just lay a wooden floor down. What a shame they dont still have the Imax theater. They could show scary clips from scary movies for an older crowd.
