Whay do you think Magnum is always number one on almost every coaster list. Many coasters are taller, faster, and steeper than Magnum but why do you think it is always number 1?

Overall it makes a good coaster: Its tall, fast, airtime, tunnels, beachside, and over Soak City. It also has a very fun and scary lift hill and drop.
I believe this was discussed over at Coaster Buzz. Go there and search for "Magnum." It'll come up.

I personally think its because it was the first hypercoaster to be introduced. If the first hyper to be introduced was, say, Steel Force, over at Dorney park, people would have loved that one as much as Magnum.
I personally think Magnum is overrated. (Or maybe its 'cuz a little coaster called Millennium Force spoiled me. Perhaps you've heard of it? hehehe)
force312 beat me too it. There is just something about Magnum. It just has this magic surounding it so to speak. It pretty much has just about everything other than an inversion. It has negative g's, laterals, head choppers, cool trains, etc etc.

We bought a lifetime supply of pudding? How wasted were we last night?!
*Dude, Where's my car?*
They have built them taller, faster, steeper, and longer but they have not built them better than Magnum. I could write a book on this topic but everyone already knows my feelings.

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point.
One word for all of you....
Airtime.
Alright...here's my opinion..
In 1989 there was a park named Cedar Point. Now this park didn't have a whole lot of rides and they decided to build with a bang. As the crews and construction workers built Magnum with care. The track began rising so high in the air, and once they were done people flocked to the park just so they could ride with Magnum in their heart.
Maggie she was named, she beat all else. She had a 200 foot hill and airtime galore. She gave out all those negative G's with a passion, and that's why people today do still ride with passion.
The end.
Magnum's is known world wide as the coaster that first broke the 200-foot barrier, and sparked a coaster building craze throughout the U.S.
