Why is Gemini rated as 1 coaster with 2 lift hills

Why is Gemini listed as 1 coaster with 2 lift hills, when other parks, like Magic Mountain, list there racing coasters as 2 different coasters?
Because Colossus has one side running backwards (still only one coaster if you ask me).. Gemini is a single structure.. the two sides are built on a common frame.. hence a single coaster.

And well.. there are two seperate lift chains... if you're counting lift chains.. then I guess Iron Dragon and Cedar Creek Mine Ride are also two coasters by your book.

Because CP marketing is more honest? I've always thought of racing coasters as one coaster, especially since both sides go under one name.
I think it is just Magic Mountains way of getting a record by classifing a coaster as two coasters!
The record keepers don't see Colossus as two coasters as far as I know...

And I was at SFMM this spring... there wasn't a side running backwards as far as I can remember.

Oh.. and this is my 100th post (break out the party hats!)

It was on Jan 1st. when I was there..

(and this is my 1002'nd post.. so HA!) hehehhe

Actually SFMM doesn't count Colossus as two coasters, not even when it runs a side backwards. Its one ride with a choice, and most of the time they are only running one side unless its extremely busy.

Future CP Ride op?

Since the two tracks on Gemini are virtually identical, it only makes sense as one coaster. I haven't been to SFMM, but it doesn't sound as if thye have a consistent approach anyway, by what everyone has said here! :) At least Cedar Point sticks to what it says, not changing from year to year.

And if we are trying to show each other up in this thread post-wise, this is my 1481'st post...but I think Jeff can easily beat us all...

Because if you ride the red side then the blue side you'll experiance the exact same drops and turns as you would if you rode the oppisite side. Gwazi the other hand has two completly different layouts.
How do you find out many post you have, or do you guys keep track?
