So for the past 3 days it looks like Dragster has been closed all day. I know its been kind of rainy, but today its clear and all 6 trains are still on the platforms( as seen from dragster cam). Im just wondering if anyone has been there recently and can tell me if it is actually closed. I don't want to come all the way up tomorrow only to find Dragster closed.
I think it's been down due to wind.

I was there Tuesday and it was windy, so that was why I assumed it was down. I saw the crew in the station so I thought they were anticipating reopening if the wind let up.

Man this sucks, I am coming from NJ tonight and I would really like Dragster to open. I know CP will do whatever they can to get it running.
A friend called and park ops said this.
"Park ops said it is having a significant mechanical issue.. they are working on it today.. they did not have a specific answer on when it would be opened.. I asked if they had to order a "part" (which would cause further delay) and they didn't know.. they said it was being worked on, and were hopeful for the weekend but could not guarantee.. "
It ran like a champ when I was there Sunday. Guess I'm just lucky like that. :)
For being down this long, it definitely has to be something of great significance. I sure hope it's not a gearbox. In any case, I trust the mechanics there. I'm sure it's nothing that's beyond their knowledge or capabilities.

New for me this year; when we visited during "opening week" (monday - thursday) we got out fair share of laps on Dragster. On Wednesday I was set to go when there was a mechanical issue of some kind, and they actually announced to the crowd that it was going to be a "significant delay" instead of just the usual "Dragster is down...we do not know how long this delay will be...please feel free to wait but go ride something else".
Is this new, or have I been under a rock? I just thought it was a nice touch to actually let the crowd know it wasn't just a 5 minute delay (it actually ended up being down the rest of the day).
Promoter of fog.
Not new... we announced that to crowds back in '04 when we knew it was not a normal error.

The Dragster crew did something incredibly nice for a station full of people at/just after park closing May 27th. Probably 3 trains worth of people left, and something made a grinding noise. Closed down, but they called the Millennium Force crew and sent us there for a last ride of the night sort of thing. Was a nice gesture.
I hope whatever is wrong gets fixed soon.
Every time I've been there this year it has been having issues. Seems like it was building up to this major shut down. That sucks! Hopefully they will fix it by tomorrow, we all know Cedar Point will do everything in it's power to get it up and running, they always do.
Keep our fingers crossed!!
I have great news! Called the park again and they said they are going to try to get Dragster up and running again by 6 PM today! Fingers crossed!
TTD has been one of the more reliable rides the past few years. I rarely ever saw it down when I was there. Maybe I was just there on good days.

I thought in '04 it was more common to announce when the ride actually WAS operating, rather than when it was down. :)

As of 5:40pm on Thursday, it's still closed, unstaffed, and with no visible signs of any repairs or tests being made. All trains are off the track.
