Why is CP still selling 3D glasses for Disaster Transport?

I think that the point the OP was trying to make was that the first room (ie all the travel posters) through the "Brother Bear" area and into the "warehouse room" was were all the effects were that made buying those glasses "worth it." There is nothing, save the Dispatch Master logo in the section of the queue still open that was designed to be enhanced by those glasses.

Exactly. The rooms with all the special effects for the glasses have been eliminated. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the opening year they gave DT its cheap "3D" make-over, there was the neon-glow stuff painted all throughout the ride and on the track. I'm almost sure of it...the track had 2 neon-orange glow streaks and the old props were painted with the glow paint for the 3D glasses. All of that has been eliminated as well....100% darkness this year.

So, everything has been eliminated for the 3D glasses, except the DT logo by the staircase, if that matters.

To continue Walt's analogy, you're getting an empty container of fries right now. Get rid of the glasses.

And to Zeek: If a child takes that empty container of fries and uses it as a hat, it doesn't make it okay. They're just too young to know that they were scammed.

But if that empty container of fries brings joy to that child, then no harm no foul.

Last time I rode it, the ride was in total darkness. Can't see why they would still be selling 3D glasses?

Ah... I think we're all forgetting that there's still some glowpaint in use on the final brake run, right before you enter the unload station. It's still there, and in glorious 3D!!! ;)

I wen to Kennywood over the weekend and they have Garfield's nightmare. It is a 3-d glow painted ride. They give you a set of glasses to wear on the ride to see the stuff. With the glasses on there is 3-d stuff everywhere on the ride! And the glasses are free to use. Riding that ride makes me feel really bad that people spend money to buy glasses on dt.

If there were 3D things to see in DT, we shouldn't have to pay for the glasses. The Sponge Bob ride at KI just gives you glasses and you put them in the return can after the ride is done.

You get glasses for free for a great ride that has a lot of 3D, but they make you pay for them when there is no 3D at all. Cedar Fair makes me scratch my head...

Let's Get Weird.

Cedar Fair is not a big fan of the word "free".

This is awful :( I'm glad I have a head's up about this. It's hard to imagine the park actually getting away with this... It would be one thing to just have the glasses for sale, but when the employees actually lie and tell you they will work on the ride when they don't, that's inexcusable. If it had been me I WOULD have complained to customer service. Don't know how much the glasses cost, but still, it's a matter of principle. I would like to hear how they justify it.

I rode DT on Tuesday, and I am happy to say that they are no longer selling the 3D glasses.

Thanks for the update, Jesz. Glad they listen to us once in a while. ;)

Wow, really? I was just there Monday and they were still selling them. They probably got a ton of complaints.

No problem. :) Yep Cpboy, Tuesday they had one cart and it was full of light up merchandise. No 3-D glasses to be seen.
