Why is Cedar point closed sept. 10, 11th?

I couldnt find any threads talking about this, so I was wondering why these days were closed. I know the triathlon is on the 12th.

Could it be a company picnic rent-out like what Honda did?

I believe it's for a park buyout.

The park is actually closed on Friday and the buyout is Saturday. That Sunday is usually a good day to go as the crowds are lighter, but all the Halloweekends theming is in place and the Red Garter show is running. Although even that is becoming less of a draw.

Let's hope the park buyout falls through again and CP reopens for guests on Friday with hardly any notice like last year. That was the best trip I've had at Cedar Point since the 90s...though the Maverick trains were having stacking problems because there was no one there to ride them!

Well, if the increased attendance this year is any indication, I wouldn't hold your breath on it being canceled again.

Does anyone know if there is going to be a pass holder appreciation day this year? I think they did them to draw people in on the day of the weekend that wasn't bought out.

Yeah, I hope there is another season pass holder appreciation day. I could use another VIP jacket. They make great tarps for painting.

I would probably be the happiest guy on earth if they would open the park on Friday even if its just for an abreviated schedule. I have a bunch of friends and family coming in from New Mexico for the Buckeye Game on Saturday. The other highlight of the trip, at least I was hoping, was that we could visit the park on Friday so they could experience the greatest theme park in the world, but I just found out that it's going to be closed. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that they will open it at the last minute.
