Why I want a B&M Flyer

Now, this is not a rumor, this is a wish. I just want to keep that clear so that this totally editoral post doesn't turn into the newest rumor.

Some of the most memorable and exciting coasters I've ever ridden have been B&M coasters. To me innovative elements and smooth transitions make B&Ms the ultimate in coaster riding. I have never ridden a B&M coaster I didn't love (except for Mantis, but I gradually grew to dislike that ride).

I love sensations of flying. Wave Swinger and Raptor are two of the coolest rides at the Point in my opinion just because they provide a feeling of being open, being free. I want more of that. I want to be able to climb a lift hill and look down and see nothing but ground.

No, I haven't ridden a flying coaster (not even a Vekoma) yet, but I've spoken to a good friend of mine who had the good fortune to ride Air. She said that not only are the restraints and seats "comfey" but seem to not even be there at all. Plus, the dependibility of B&M rides over the past 12 years of their existance has been incredible. Cedar Point cannot go wrong with a B&M flyer.

The closest I'll ever get to riding a B&M Flyer is looking down while on Raptor... :(

I would also love to see a B&M flyer! Lots of people are talking about and Intamin rocket coaster but I think at B&M flyer would be much more thrilling. Imagine going just a couple feet away from trees and the ground and also up in the sky. Sounds like fun to me and it would definately be the safesty way to "fly" if they got one. :)

I would also like a B&M flyer. Heck, I would like any B&M creation.

No Doubt...B&M makes the best kind of coasters...I would like to see a Flyer...But any B&M coaster would be GREAT...the floorless would be hot. Something like the Medusa at SfgAdv...But with less dowtime :)

Medusa is one of the BEST B&M coaster i ever been on...Ofcourse i still put the Raptor #1

Michael Darling, I agree 100%. I was hoping that we would get a B/M Flyer in 2004, so that any bugs would have been worked out. I don't think that's going to happen if we get another coaster in Area 51 for next season. Then again, maybe the B/M Flyer is coming to Area 51 in 2003. My favorite B/M is Kraken down at Sea World. Can't wait to go back in August :)

A B&M Flyer would rule then again, like sonmeone said earlier, any B&M would suffice.

I would love another Intamin ride. I know most people think that they always have problems, but they offer a great ride. I love the way they make their Hypercoaster trains with the stadium seating and everything. I don't see why CP would get another Intamin Hyper or anything since they already have a Hyper and Giga. But i thought you should know that i love Intamin Hypers.
I'm sure that whatever is constructed in "Area 51" will be a shot heard 'round the world. CP has never ceased to amaze us all. Personally, I'd like to see a B+M launched floorless. You couldn't go wrong with a combination of Kraken and The Incredibe Hulk.
I personally think raptor is great. But the floorless are not spectacular! Kraken was ok because of the underground inversions, and tunnels. But BKF at SFWOA didn't do anything for me! B&M's are OK, but I don't like the floorless coasters. I don't know about flyers, but I still think there will be a family coaster. Although a flyer will provide more variety in CP's collection!

I'm with you Michael!
I'm sorry but I can remember a few times where CP has ceased to amaze (Wicked Twister)Not to say that it is bad it is just a tad dissappointing(to me anyway)I just think that they should of made it a dueling impulse that would be something new and never been done before.Plus having two spirals intertwine would be sweet.

Area 51 is the perfect location for a flyer. Close encounters with the water and trees would be so great! A MAJOR downside of X-Flight for me is that there is nothing interesting about it, it's just kind of there with the parking lot on one side and the road on the other.

Besides this, the last looping coaster (and the last B&M) was 7 years ago (from 2003).

If CP and B&M can do it right (leave as many trees as possible untouched and not cover the ground with gravel like they did on MF), they can come up with a world class flying coaster.

I can't think of a coaster that I'd want more (in that location) than a B&M Flyer, except for a 4D, but a 4D is out of the question, so bring on the flier (Please!)

5 admissions so far, and looking forward to many more!

S:UF is such a blast. If CP did the B&M flyer thing it would be ten times better and in such a great location in the park. Just think of flying over the lagoon and onto Millennium Island... maybe they could even call it Banshee this go round! ;)

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

All I know is if it is a B&M I hope Walter or Claude decide to show up for opening day like they did for S:UF. Then I would get to meet one of the greats...
A B&M Flyer would be great, zipping over the lagoon. I'm sure CP will get one eventually. But my vote is still for wood. I'd love to see a CP version of "The Raven" stretch out over MF island. Also it is my hope the CP invests some cash into refurbishing Mean Streak....2 new "woods" in 2003.
Or, net, they could actually have 2 new woods in 2003. Build one in the "area 51" area and the other by the demolished Mean Streak....
If you think about it, if Cedar Point added Wicked Twister in responce to Superman Ultimate Escape, perhaps they could do the same to X-Flight? Maybe these are just internet rumors indeed, but they are something very good to think about.

Your wish just may come true! I recently talked to a guy who was a manager at cedar point and something about a silver bar, but he knew some interesting things about the future.
He said he knows it will be a flier and most likely an INTAMIN (there new design, that you havent seen....He said that when it comes to building a ride INtamin is first priority then SS and then BM, so it just might be BM) IT will of course be the biggest/tallest/fastest...etc flier!
He also said CP has in its plans for now to build a 405ft coaster in 2008 but the project may be moved up, but its supose to be on the outside of the park and be able to intertwine with MF thats why there are 5 towers spread apart so that another track could fit in between. And after that project all of the housing and warehouses down the of the mainland will be ripped out turned into a parking lot, shuttle service will be needed and the park will then be extended into the parking lot. Im sure you all will think this is very sketchy and i have no proof. I do not want him to get busted even though this is his first year not working at the park (for several reasons) but yea If you have AOL IM me and we can talk more about this...my Screen name is Medinalax
