Why Cedar Point is closed most of the September 2010?

Hi,
I live in Florida and will be travelling through Ohio on September 19 (Sun) and 20 (Mon). I planned to stay 2 days at Cedar Point, but just discovered that park is closed on weekdays in September, according to their web-site. Does anybody know why, by any chance? This is very disappointing.
Thank you.

Cedar Point has never been open during the week, after Labor Day.

How about most of the kids [workers] are are back to school during the week.

Andy, sorry that your timing is bad. Yeah, I guess if you're living in the land of the palm trees amid Orlando parks that never close, it can be something of a culture shock to come up here to the Great White North and discover how different things are. But in point of fact, up here near Lake Erie, the weather starts to get 'iffy' round about the first - second week in September. The night time temps start to plummet, the days just don't get the same sun, and the breeze picks up off the water. (And not to say we don't get our share of nice days in September/October, but it does become much more of a crapshoot.) Amusement parks up here plan their calendars accordingly.

Also to point out the 17th-19th is the first Haloweekend of the year. If you can make it a few days earlier you can enjoy not only the rides but the great haunted attractions as well! Though the first weekend of Halloweekends is uallasy a very very busy time for Cedar Point I'm looking forward to it!

Friday shouldn't be that bad. A lot of people go to the football games.
