Ok, so I was at CP about a week ago and as always the employees usually ask where you're from and whenever I would say Michigan they would always say "Oh sorry to hear that" or something around those lines. So why all the hate towards Michigan in Ohio? Is it footbal rivalries?
I would say maybe the economy...but I heard it is just as bad in Ohio as Michigan. I am a Michigander and I hate it. I don't know about Ohio, but it is few and far in between that I will actually meet a nice person in Michigan. Everyone here is rude, stuck up, snooty, etc. I had always thought that that was just normal, until I visited other states.

As a fellow Michigander, I would have to agree. Or perhaps it's the fact that we're the state with three of it's cities listed in the top ten most dangerous in the US: Detroit, Flint, Saginaw

Ohio is just jealous. They knew if we annexed Cedar Point that the rest of the state could fall into a black hole and nobody would notice or care!
The majority of Michigan is beautiful, but I seriously doubt that anyone is jealous of Detroit or Flint.
As far as the economy is concerned, I think Michigan is probably sufferring a little more than the rest of the Midwest.
Ohio's economy is pretty horrible with the exception being Columbus. Check out this Forbe's list of America's fastest dying cites. spoiler 4/10 are in Ohio.
Any hate towards Mich has to be purely OSU vs. M. What possible reason could someone have for hating someone from Michigan. Even so it's a light hearted hate said with a smile. If you genuinly hate someone you have never met before based solely on what state they are from then you have social problems.

That said, we should bring this to a close.
