Who will Announce first?

If SFWOA is possibly going to have a Hyper Coaster (whatever that is) then I'm guessing they'll wait and steal the tension but, CP has been good about announcing things.

A hyper coaster is any coaster 200+ ft. tall, usually w/ an out and back layout.

That's why SFWOA is trying to get permission to build a coaster 200ft or higher. Can't belive that they're doing somthing CP did in '89

It doesn't really matter. Six Flags is in a rut right now. They really can't compete with the point.

Good point there dude, Getting a Hyper Coaster could mess up their budget badly.

I am under the impression that there will not be a hyper at woa for at least another year, 2004.

And how dare Cedar Point put in Blue Streak in the 60's, Geauga Lake had Big Dipper long before that! Wicked Twister? Whoops, Six Flags already had Superman.

Damn, will this incessant copying never cease?

Hey, Greg...you're forgetting something! Geauga Lake had an obnoxiously-shaky twister built in 1988! 3 whole YEARS before Cedar Point got theirs!!!

Looks like Magic Mountain had a Little trouble with "X". I thought that came out in 2001. A launched coaster like Deja Vu would be sweet at CP!

Deja Vu isn't launched. It is pulled back vertically and then released, thus gaining speed to go through the entire course. Besides, Deja Vu has such low capacity. The point would never think about getting one. I like the thought, it's just not a good ride for the park.

A little off topic, but I just saw a SFWoA commercial and at the end they flashed a new slogan, "Feed your fun."

So now they feel the need to nearly copy a park that people drive past and isn't as good as theirs slogan ;). They must figure that's why CP is doing so good this year, it's all the silly slogan.

Now a SF park close to MIA will have to add something like "Fun cubed" to their sales pitch.

I don't think SFWoA will have much to announce. The big project, from what I hear, is relocation of the road that presently goes by the front gate of the rides side. The park itself will only get a few flat rides that were supposed to be installed this year.

Is it just me or does that slogan not make any sense? Where exactly on the body is the fun located? :)

SFWOA needs to fix the problems they have. Customer service, clean the park up, widen some paths, and maintain the rides they already have. If I received the treatment I get at CP, I would return.

I highly doubt the announcement of SFWOA's hyper will take any thunder away from CP.

I don't think SFWOA is building any coaster next year. They probably don't want to steal any of thunder away from CP's new coaster, like they stole CP's Loyal patrons this year......

They might want to get a new coaster just for that....but then again they might be risking it again.
