Who likes Conjecture?

I know a lot of you are sick to death of the 100 different "I think it is this" posts.

But for those of us who followed this site closely during the construction of TTD, if my memory is still good (and maybe Walt can pull old posts) one of those conjecture posts was DEAD ON.

I seem to remember when about 2 levels of supports were up, someone posted that it would be a 420ft L-TH-B coaster at 120MPH. That post was ridiculed just like many of the posts on here now.

And not that you care, but I think the best part of this whole process is to dream about what it could be. And I dont even post my opinion, I just love to read the creative and well-thought out posts where Columbo-like enthusiasts try to deduce a 500ft suspended coaster out of three pieces of track and a packing slip!

After the announcement, I will probably revert to being just a Pointbuzz! news reader until project 2008 or 2009 is detected and we all go through this again!

So the point of my post - sound off if the conjecture and sleuthing is your favorite part of talking about coasters!

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

Not me.

My favorite part of talking about coasters is talking to fellow riders (friends & family, not just random people) right after riding. BUT, I do also enjoy trying to guess and sketch what I think the new projects are (thus, the "Photoshops & Mock-ups" thread). The 'puzzle' pieces and speculation inspire me to 'draw' things I normally wouldn't, hone my skills, and kill time till I can get back to CP again.

Was TTD really that hard to come up with?

The thing is, there's plenty of threads to come up with ideas for the new ride. The issue is when 10+ threads are being posted a day with each individual's take on what the new coaster is gonna be.

Dragster wasn't hard at all to predict if you were paying attention. Obviously the early poured footers and bright orand flags helped out a bunch. Many people thought it would cross the lagoon and venture onto Millennium Island, but that was soon put to bed by a lack of activity on the island.

Back then I had L:TH:B in my sig, but I don't think I ever had exactly how tall or fast it woul go.

I like discussing possibilities, but I don't like having to reiterate the difference between talking "launch versus lift" and "adding on to TTD." ;)

At this point in the game there should be some fair consensus on plenty of things.

Wow, I must have had more to drink last night than I thought...:)
