Dj's facts are interesting and has good points...Every single time. He wouldn't have to use facts if you didn't give him stuff to correct.

That's the problem. He swoops in to try to correct everyone and evrything. And by doing that, he comes off as arrogant. Sometimes(not just in this thread) you need to keep your opinions and facts to yourself so you don't come off as being arrogant.

You're right. Perhaps I should ignore things that I find to be factually incorrect, or not offer my opinion in contrast to others' opinions. Of course, that would sort of negate the entire point of a discussion forum, now wouldn't it?

Pehaps you should every once and a while. You don't need to try and prove everyone and everything wrong all the time.

Look, if you want to express your opinions and make statements and have no one disagree with them or prove them factually incorrect, perhaps you'd be better off starting a blog. Just remember to turn off the comments.

There is a differance between disagree and trying to prove everyone wrong all the time.

Crazy Horse, be careful. Your emotion-based 80s TV nostalgia is detracting from your emotion-based White Water Landing nostalgia, which in turn is detracting from your price-of-food-at-the-park emotion-based nostalgia.

Emotion has nothing to do with it. It has everything to do with DJ always jumping in and saying...HEY LOOK....I dissagree and can prove it. It get's old. He is like the annoying person in a class room that is always raising there hand before anyone else can.

As far as white water landing, height requirements and food, you seem to think I am the only one that has a problem with those things. If I remember right, DJ even dissaproves of the food prices and quality.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

But that would be so unlike you.

Are you serious? If I see something within a discussion that is factually incorrect, I should just ignore it?!? Really? What sense does that make?

You know what else is annoying? The fact that before you started complaining about how much of a jerk I am, the discussion was proceeding just fine. After you felt compelled to complain about how arrogant and annoying I am, the discussion has been completely derailed - a dozen or so consecutive posts totally off-topic. For someone so concerned about the quality of discussion here, you sure have a habit of derailing them to complain about how I ruined them.

ADDED:
And with that, I'm done addressing your whining about how mean I am, crazy. No, I will not ignore things that aren't correct, or withhold my opinion in order to spare your feelings. But I will ignore your "dj is teh mean!" nonsense.

That's the problem. Sometimes you need to. You ALWAYS have to jump in and try to prove everything factually incorrect. No matter how trivial it is, you always jump in.

The thread was going just fine untill you chimed in as always.

DJ did provide relevant data in response to your statement originally. That said, he does have a very negative and demeaning tone about him, 99% of the time.

I fear the veterans like and appreciate it, but when new people come to the site and get attacked they probably don't stick around long. That's probably why there are only a couple dozen of us.

If you don't like him correcting you all the time and chiming in be wrong about less stuff. Why would anyone want to come on here and read stuff thats not right? If you post stuff thats not right, and some one else knows it and can prove it then they should. They should also be able to post opinions about whatever they want. Thats the point of a discussion forum.

I need a good "laff".

I know the "submit reply" button is on every page, but there's no requirement to use it.

We'd be better off with:

-- fewer quarrelsome and contentious posts

-- being less personal when discussing differing opinions

-- having more contributions to the conversation and fewer contributions to the argument
