White Water Landings Tunnel

At the end of last season we saw the work that they were doing on the tunnel. This season it's gone!

You come out of the first lift and the loop is there, but no tunnel or waterfall.

I can't say I miss is much. My wife didn't notice it gone and we have be on this ride a million times. Most people probably will never notice it.

WWL is a great ride. Not the tallest, fastest, or wetest. I don't have to wear a lap bar and get to drop about 45 feet or something...cool...Just don't put your hands up. (I won't talk about that one.)

What do you folks think.. Does this take away from the ride experience? (I use DT as a comparison. Broken effects caused people to complain for years.) They did something pretty quick about this one. (Probably had something to do with safety.)

The area does look a little naked (Dan and I sat there people watching for a good half-hour). It's not the same however, without the drip. Gotta rebuild and bring back the drip!

Tunnel? What tunnel? :)

Honestly...when I saw it I was impressed. The entire mountain is now GONE, but the landscaping has been so nicely redone that if you didn't know that mountain had been there, you could never tell it had been removed.

I agree with Jeff. I really didn't pay attention to the tunnel this time until we went down the first dip and we were still outside. It just took away theme from the ride. The drip was the best. Without the drip you really don't get wet like you used to. I used to love watching people freak when they got hit by it.

Sigh...2002...the downfall of what little ride theming still remained at CP...

The words "upkeep" and "themeing" are never used with "Cedar Point" which is one of the parks downfalls. It's kinda sad that they can't keep what little themeing they have up.

Maybe if IOA catches them in the golden ticket they will wake up. ;)

I was a little bummed when I noticed that was missing. That was one of the best parts. The tiny trickle of water that always cooled you off on a hot day.

I'm glad someone mentioned this, I was about to start a thread.

I miss the tunnel. Tunnels are cool. Kids love them, and the dripping water added to the ride, a teaser of sorts. I'd like to see a tunnel put back there.

I heard the mountain was removed to make way for the station for one of the three new rollercoasters for 2003.

mwahaha...someone else would have said it if I hadn't :o)

I know the reason why the waterfall dont work is that when some kid leaned away from the water, he hit his head i guess and got hurt. I dontknow if they will ever put the cave again. I miss it.

But it could have happen. Toward the end, almost everyone jumped around the waterfall.
