White Water Landing Chute

I remember last year in July, several boats got stuck up on the top of the hill by the chutes, they still only have one chute open...does anybody know why they don't use both of them?
Actually the problem was the collision they had at the merge point at the bottom of the chute.

If they're still only using one chute, you can probably trace the reason back to that minor incident.

I rode WWL several times this year and they are using both chutes. I did notice that the ride op on the top of the platform seems more attentive then they have in the past.

Blue people fly sideways when it rains....

I have been to the park 20 times this year and watch WWL 10 or 15 minutes twice each day. I have never seen the right side (as your coming down the hill) open since the minor accident. I have been there on very busy and very slow days. If they opened the right side, I wonder what determines if they open it or not?

No ! They do not have Freeway for Dragster.

I know...I have been to Cedar Point about a dozen times this year...and have never seen the right chute open.
uhhh, i seem to remember a tunnel on white water landing from a few years back, after the first dip and before the major hill. i know that it hasnt been here all year, but i remember this tunnel, and i remember that it had the littlew waterfall from time to time that would get you slightly wet. whered it go???

The tunnel caved in a couple of years ago, and...I think it was last year...it was finally taken down. In all honesty, I think that area of the park looks better with that big hunk of fake rock gone. And they did a beautiful job of landscaping it . Oh, and with the waterfall gone, I ride White Water Landing more often than I used to. :)

Waterfall? It was more of a trickle. But even that was unpleasant. I have to agree...I'm glad the "cave" is gone!

RideMan is right on target about that waterfall. Now that it's gone, my boys & I ride WWL much more often.
Huh? I'm confused. The "waterfall" was used sparingly, and CP used it intelligently. At night, or when it was slightly cold out, the waterfall was turned off. In fact, it was almost always turned off. Usually the only time I experienced it was on the hot summer days, when I wanted it on. I also thought it added excitement to the ride (not to mention it was fun seeing people scream).

I was very upset to see the cave go and figured they'd rebuild it. What was I thinking...CP and theming...they could care less. Now that part of the ride seems dull to me. It's amazing that a cave affects the ride, but that was probably my favorite part. Oh well...

Ok...that's odd. I thought the tunnel was still there at the beginning of this year. Hmmm........ I also didn't see the right side of the chute operate at all this year either.

Oh my.....I am getting quite forgetful or something!...hmmm...

I am sad to hear the cave is gone. I spent two summers working WWL 87&88. The cave was a great place to have a cigarette between breaks. Also there was a big flat area on the rocks right in the middle, which provided a great spot to scare people from. I also have heard that it made a great place to hide during WWL cleanup.
