White Water Landing

I was at the park this past weekend and when i was on WWL, I noticed when i was going through the tunnel with the water fall, it looked like they were dismantling the tunnel. On the one side, they had it torn apart and the only thing there was the frame! Does anyone know about this? or are they just renevating it?

Part of the cave collapsed sometime this year. They are probably going to try and built it up out rake it out now since they have off days.

I knew something was wrong the waterfall that used to be there didn't work all year.  I would love to see that fixed for next year that was one of the best part's of WWL.

So that's what happened.  We went on there and my sister was so glad that the waterfall wasn't there ("cool, now my hair will stay pretty!")  I didn't even realize it was damaged.

(BTW, isn't it cool how you can see the original concrete flumes from Shoot-the-Rapids while riding?  Anyone been on shoot-the-rapids?  How is is same/different from WWL?)

Part of the tunnel has been taken down and replaced with wood supports.  If you look close when you go through it you can see the old concrete mesh looks pretty bad.  Pretty bad might be an understatement.  I guess it's better to have a hole with wood planks than to have concrete fall on someone.  I've got some pretty good pictures of it.  I'll have to post them somewhere. 

I assume they will fix it during the off season.  If you didn't know what used to be there you probably wouldn't notice it...

Differences between Shoot The Rapids and WWL...WWL is HIGHER, LONGER and BETTER(?)

Not only can you still see the part of the concrete flume from STR (this is where the water from the flume ran back into the pond). The two pumps on your right as you go up the small hill into the cave are the two MAIN pumps from Shoot The Rapids . Just shows you how much bigger WWL is.

Yeah, theres no more hiding from the water fall underneath the side of the canoe!

Hmm....yes, the But Shoot the Rapids was very cool. It had a nice personality. One thing in particular I will never forget, if you raved how you didnt get wet the ride ops would hold your boat until the next boat went down the chute - the ensuing push of water would go right up over the back of your boat and soak everyone in it.....I always thought that was so cool to see the parents faces....Something I will never forget about that old ride....
