Which Way?

Hey im going to be going to Cedar Point next monday and Tuesday and i was wondering would it be better to go down the Ohio Turnpike or to Take Highway 2?(im Coming From Farmington Michiagn if that helps)

Turnpike, definitly! I don't live in Farmington but in Whitmore Lake which is like 20 minutes north of Ann Arbor but we take the turnpike after leaving home at about 6 in the morning and we get to Cedar Point about 15 minutes before the park opens.

Really? cause whenever i would go with my aunt we went Highway 2 and it seemed to be pretty quick and we would even stop and get something to eat and still be at the park befor it opened. has anyone timed them both to see what on is quicker?

We've done both, but take my word for it, lately Highway 2 tends to get crowded a lot more easily during the summer, the turnpike is the way to go during mid-summer.

Turnpike....I am from Michigan too....and its more reliable, even in the midst of construction, traffic moves....when I have run into construction or problems on Rte 2, its a standstill.....PLus, you can go 70mph on the turnpike and growing up, it was 55, which made them more equal.....take in account slowing down for small towns, its substantially quicker...

But I am not sure I understand the 3.75 hrs....I am from Jackson, MI and it takes 2.5 hours....

once you hit OHIO TURN PIKE that means Cp is 45 mins away..hehehe

I have kept track of the miles from my house(Utica,MI) to Cedar Point on 2 and on the turnpike. The turnpike was 1 extra mile. Once you hit 2 you only have about a 45min - 1 hour drive ditto for the turnpike.

So I would go 2 because it is free and it is just as quick.

Go Route 2, get off at Route 6 and stop at Tofts for some ice cream. MMMMmmmmmmmmm Good!

Um, I don't believe this but I too live in Farmington. Take highway 2. Turnpike is left for the ride home. :)

Don't let life fly by.

Highway two takes me approximately two hours from Livonia. It is faster and less congested.

The Turnpike takes a bit longer (you travel farther south than is necessary) and it costs a small bit of change. But it is much easier to navigate.

Highway 2 has a lot more charm. For the best ride, skip both 6 & 250 and take Rye Beach Road. It's further, but much more scenic.

No doubt Highway 2 is nice, but sometimes frustrating....I use it for the ride home....but never on the way there, the rate of travel is much faster on the turnpike. I WANT TO GET THER FAST...!!!...The 2 bucks or so is worth it....its pretty much a nominal fee. And if someone has confirmed its only 1 mile farther, then the math of 70mph vs 55mph (with slowdowns due to towns) - well, lets just say we dont need a rocket scientist to calculate which route is *faster*

take 2 if you are east of 23. I'm from Shelby Twp (north of Detroit), and it usually takes me 2 1/2 hours to get there.
