Kalahari. Quality is what they have, and something for everyone. But can get expensive but same as the other water parks.
I've only been to one of those three, Great Wolf, but it really didn't have much in the way of slides so I wouldn't recommend it. It seemed much more geared twoards younger kids. If thats what you looking for thats a great place, but it doesn't have too much for the older members of the family.
Thrills Around the Corner!
A better way to make this topic so that it will stay open is.
Now that Sandusky's three waterparks have all been around for quite some time now, what one do you prefer, and why? Are they all geared towards kids, or do they have adult attractions as well? How are they priced? Is there anything extra to know about the three parks?

I've been to GWL and kalahari, and worked at castaway, so I know all three pretty well, and I have to say, kalahari all the way. There is a lot more to do, it's so much nicer, and the zip coaster and flowrider are AWESOME.

Great Wolf is geared more toward the younger set, and I think my family would have a hard time staying there unless the Point were also open to give us something more to do.
We really enjoy Castaway, and one can often get some pretty oustanding deals there, even on a Saturday, if you book early enough. We also would prefer Castaway to Kalahari when the Point is open, just for location's sake. Castaway's standard rooms are the smallest of the three, though.
Kalahari is pretty steep on Saturdays, which is when we would normally be able to go. The kids have a Monday in late January off, and I think we're going to try it that Sunday night. I'm really looking forward to it.
I have only been to Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge, and Kalahari is definetly the best! Castaway Bay actually does look fun, but I've never been in it. Try the surfing at Kalahari or Castaway Bay. I did it at Kalahari and it was so much fun!! My bathing suit fell off once too. lol. Also arn't they building a new water park across from Kalahari?
Kalahari is the best!!! they have a special right now for Two nights $298.00 and Castaway bay has one for $199.00 for two nights.
Cpboy77from what I have read yes a new waterpark across from Kalahari.

I've stayed at Kalahari and GWL and taken a guided tour through CB's waterpark. From what I saw at CB and experienced at the others, I would rate Kalahari the best. It seems to have the most for everyone, including the larger of the 3 parks and a more upbeat bar/nightlife area. Not to mention it's the nicest of the three.
CB looks fun though and from what I saw on our mini tour, the waterpark appears to be much better than GWL yet just a tad smaller than Kalahari. We've decided that this offseason we'll stay there since we've already been to the other two. This potential March Pointbuzz gathering being talked about is another incentive.

Aesthetic wise I find that Castaway Bay is so much nicer than Kalahari. CB has the nice cedar roof opposed to Kalahari's warehouse roof. I also found CB's wall murals look much more realistic ,with the lighting on them it almost appears real. I guess I like CastawayBay better because it feels like it transports you to a different world as opposed to Kalahari's warehouse look.
I've been to the bar at Kalahari, and saw the water park from the windows. I would have to agree that Kalahari has somewhat of a warehouse look to it. Castaway Bay has much nicer themeing, and really makes you feel somewhat like you are outdoors in the tropics, instead of just sitting in a big heated room.
Kalahari has much better night life than CB though.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Personally, I'm more of a fan of Castaway Bay's decor...
That being said, I wouldn't give the lifeguard staff at Kalahari any credit at all, if safety is a concern of yours.

Personally, I like Kalahari...
The lazy river there is done very nicely, I think I did it in excess of ten times.
I like Zip Coaster a lot too. Is that a hint of airtime I feel? :)
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~
I can, thank you very much, Josh... :)

Well I just came back from a Three Day Visit to Ohio to see Castaway Bay and Kalahari, and heres what I think.
Castaway Bay: Nice decor and the music made the touch. Staffing was a tight. No Slides were open unless you could track down a supervisor and have them open it up. It was clean and bright. We stayed at Castaway Bay and had a contruction guy in our room at 8am saying he was their to "demolish our room for the renovation" No where to eat at the resort had to drive into town to eat. Mango Mikes and TGI Fridays Closed. (Yes I know Fridays is getting remolded)
Kalahari- It had a WareHouse look and it was cold in the water park. The Zip Coaster was closed and the life guards spent more time talking to each other than paying attention. Nice Water park Clean and need more lighting and decor. Lots of Staffing but the Lifeguards were High School Kids Talking with Friends. I found a Band Aid stuck to a Rock in the Lazy River..
On the resort end I perfer Kalahari and On the Waterpark end I perfer Castaway Bay
