Which rides not to miss??

Which rides at Cedar Point do you absolutely have to ride?? I'm going in August, and want to plan my day.
In my personal opinion, I would say Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, Raptor, Mantis, Power Tower up and down, Gemini, and Mean Streak (even though Mean Streak is hated by lots of people because of the trim brakes on the first hill. This causes a slower ride, and it also doesn't have much airtime, but some people still like it.)

If you're only going 1 day in August, then I'm almost certain you won't be able to ride all the coasters, especially if you've never been there before. So the ones you shouldn't miss are the ones posted by Cornbread, and after those, if you have more time, you could ride other the other coasters.

I recommend riding MF right after they open the gate to the park, and for your very last ride at night. Riding it in the morning will pump you up for the other coasters. It will also give you a good few seconds to get an elevated perspective of the park before you are "launched" over the hill.

Riding it again at night will give you a FORCEful idea of how rides in the morning differ from rides at night on MF. You drop into pitch bladckness, and the ride feals at least 2 times as fast! This will let you end your trip with one of the best memories you'll ever experience. *** This post was edited by CP_bound on 1/18/2001. ***
There's so much to do...

Go two days! You'll have a more leisurely time and can do most everything you want. Definitely try for two days.

Of course the coasters, but I would take time to see the show in the Centennial Theater along the Main Midway - always the best in the park, in my opinion. I'd also go on the Space Spiral, because you get some GREAT views. Just have fun!

August is tough, but if you budget your time right, I'll bet you can fit in all five of these:

The Swan Boats in Frontier Town
Sir Rub-a-Dub's Tub
Dodgem 2
Eerie Falls
Summer Spectacular

Remember, it's not who votes that counts.
It's who counts the votes!
They deffinatly know what they are talking about. Definatly hit the fearsom five (Magnum, Millennium Force, Mantis, Raptor, Mean Streak). You must hit Power Tower (both sides), and Chaos. I would definatly try to hit all the coasters. You should be able to hit Gemini fairly easly though (blue side is the best).
