Where's the love?

Is it just me or have many of us on these forums lately been just a little cranky? Now I'm not calling for a lovefest or group hugs or anything...

Maybe we all just need to sit back, relax, and remember that Cedar Point is a great park, whatever they're doing in Area 51 will be pretty cool when they're done, and that the forums are much more fun with constructive comments, praise, and criticism of our favorite park.

Now take a deep breath................

.........

.........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Isn't that better?! :)

LOL MrScott! :) Seriously, I think that what you are seeing lately is that a group of CP's biggest fans have been upset by a few things going on at the park and are offering some constructive criticism. Some examples include the no outside food policy, poor condition of MF to begin the season, a few instances of rudeness on the part of employees, WT's downtime, high soda prices, etc. It is necessary that people don't become so blinded by their love for the park that they defend the park even when the park is wrong. That is what CP fans are accused of on Coasterbuzz all the time! I love CP and I believe that on the whole, they do a lot more right as a park than most parks out there. But this does not mean they are perfect. If they screw up, they need to know about it so they can correct the situation and keep their repution as the best amusement park in the world! :)

Coming back after being away from this board for months, there seems to be a universal reduction in netiquette, resulting in hurt feelings on all sides. I also have noticed similar things in other groups that I belong to -- perhaps stress levels are running high during this time of the year?

I have little love to share because I've never seen more mundane and pointless discussion in my life. The site (and to a lesser degree, CoasterBuzz) reads like it's January and we're all bored out of our skulls.

Sometimes the greatest thing about feeling grumpy is when other people are grumpy along with you.

Mr Scott, you work in park ops? ;) We need action, something has to happen.

Discussion would be boring without some "cranky" or opinionated people. Bring them on. :-)
