Where would a new ride go next?

Just to be sure than no one tries to crucify me for asking, I am not asking what or where a new roller coaster would go but where. I know there were some who felt that the space between Gemini and Mean Streak was a spot but where are some others?

I think if they were desperate they could always take down the Disaster Transport. Sorry to all you Disaster fans. but they could really put something good there.

There isn't all that much room where DT is. Plus why would they want to not raise their coaster count when they build a new one?

There is plenty of room, it really depends on what CP wants to build more than anything.

Well some times you have to take some things out if they take out a ride to put in a better one than who cares how many coasters they have.if they took out the Wildcat and put in a flying roller coaster or something like that would you complain.
Yeah I'd complain. Not only do I enjoy that ride, but for some people who are not able to ride the bigger rides, or are simply afraid of riding the bigger rides, would still be able to ride something.

Who Cares if they have the most coasters? Ha! I'd say CEDAR POINT cares very much. they are just an samll amusment aprk in little ol' Sandusky Ohio, i say small becasue it only has a 130 day operating season, so they have to draw a lot of people in a shoret about of time. Could you imagine what Cedar point could make if they were located in say Florida, where they could be open 365 days a year?
There is probably some space by Mean Streak. Just take out a couple stores.

Gas for drive to Cedar Point: $25
Ticket to Cedar Point: $43
Drink while in line for ride: $3
Travel 420 feet in the air: Priceless

CEDAR POINT DOES NOT HAVE A SPACE PROBLEM!

Can a Mod close this before my blood pressure goes any higher?

Thank you.

DUDE CHILL. No one ever said Cedar Point has a space problem. He's just asking where do you think the next ride will go.

Yeah Ms. Scott, give me a little more credit than that. I have been on this board since it first began. I have heard the space problem bit over and over and I am fully aware that it doesn't have one. What I am only wondering is where will a large addition, like a roller coaster, would be placed if Cedar Point decided to build another.

Even though the islands are holding some of the hills to Millennium Force, is there some room there? Also, is there room around Camp Snoopy for one?

Alright, next time you ride Millennium Force - look out to the left just before you go next to the unload station. Across Perimeter Road there's something going on.

Across Perimeter Road there's something going on.....hey Top Thrill Dragster...i saw that on saturday...it was a dump truck and some dug up rock...i think that is too small of a space to be considered anything exciting not to mention thats not even in the park...i hope we are talking about the same thing....and someone told me cedar point may fill in the marina....they did dig it out to begin with didnt they?? also i dont expect anyhting spectacular anytime soon seeing as thought they just spent 25 million...oh and p.s. Wildcat is very under-rated. :)
I was there yesterday and in the line for dragster this came up. They have some space over by the Millennium Force, where the wooded area is, and where they have that glass blowing shop, near Fort Sandusky.
I'm going for a B/M Flyer in the back somewhere near Mean Streak.

My vote is for some Huss flat rides in the Blue Streak midway (which needs a facelft and crowds again). Start by tearing down the old Pirate Ride building and put a "Topple Tower" there....go to the Huss site for those not familiar with "Topple Tower" and tell me this ride is not perfect for Cedar Point.
if we're talkin the Blue Streak midway, i say they throw in a classic "Zipper". Those are the craziest things ever! The Topple Tower would be good, but i'd go with a Zipper.

They will never fill in the marina, that's obviously just a stupid rumor. CP just spent a large sum of money renovating the marina, and it brings in a lot of revenue.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

The old Pirate ride-turned game room is now empty. Something might happen there. It would be a good idea.

Olympic-you must have read my mind. I have my own person reasons and research to know that the/a B&M flyer back in the corner around Thunder Canyon & White Water Landing just might show up ;-)

Now lets seee how many people think im nuts and have no idea what im talking about.

The Quarterdeck Arcade is gone, just in time for the park to switch from tokens to quarters, ironically enough. But while that is an enormous building, my understanding is that it is stuffed full of park services supplies and equipment, so the building is unlikely to go away or be repurposed anytime soon. Besides which, the Blue Streak computer is in there.

As for where to put a new coaster...that's one of the silliest questions I have heard in a very long time, because there is a *huge* piece of ground available if you know where to look. Look at the space bordered by Lake Erie, Ocean Motion, the Grand Pavilion, the Pagoda Gift Shop, the Coliseum, the Gazebo, and Wicked Twister. I think that spot is big enough to accommodate Mean Streak, let alone a good coaster...

There is also ample room for a Troika-sized flat ride on the main midway between the Sky Ride drive station and the large games building; they wouldn't even have to take out any trees.
