I like the yellow arrow. LOL!! Does anyone know for SURE if the train was damaged in whatever happened there? If the train wasn't damaged, that doesn't look like a major repair job. I'm sure its still cheaper than buying a brand new ride.
This has probably already been said many times over, but I just cant get used to this entire situation. The only two rides at GL, besides Dominator, that people actually like to ride and now they are gone? This summer should prove to be quite interesting for GL and its guests =\
Well I'm sure it didn't get that way because kids with sledgehammers decided to attack the ride, Tim. The train had to of hit that, and I'm sure there was some damage to the train as well.
Thanks Ben. I can't belive I grabbed the wrong link on my own site.

I can't tell exactly what's broken in that picture. Is the red steel support totally snapped off revealing the stator, or is that a piece of paper or something over top of the steel (with the arrow drawn on it)? I guess they could've removed the red steel too in order to see the damage to the stator.
There's nothing to really say this wasn't something that happened over time is there? Was it a big event when it broke, or did they just close it one day? Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm not exactly sure what happened to the ride.
Yeah, the ride just 'closed' one day. From what I understand the train hit it. I could be wrong, who knows. It's pretty badly damaged though from what I have heard.
From what I've heard it happened during the first run of morning testing. They launched and then crunch.

I think PB got deluged with questions over why it was closed and then photos showed up with a tarp draped around the track and train as the train was stopped outside the station. I don't think there was ever an official announcement about it being closed, it was just closed every day the rest of the season.

. . . like it was a long string of coincidences. As if Bill Spehn woke up every morning and said, "Goodness! Steel Venom is broken today! Oh my!"

From what I heard it wasn't the first morning test I believe it happened right as the park opened and then as I was making my way back up to the front of the park i see i big sign that says, "This attraction is temporarily out of service", altough this sign stayed up for the rest of the season. Making the problem not quite temporaily... From one of the ride operators I also heard that the train was damaged.
