where will cedar point build there next ride

Does anyone have any idea where cedar point might build there next world record breaking roller coaster?

Personally, I think Cedar Point might be focusing on world records too much. I think for a change they should focus on making a coaster for pure fun. As for the second part, I think maybe they could do some strategic moving of smaller rides and put one on the Oceana Midway. I think the Space Spiral could free up some room around there.

Personally, I think we may see one nearer to the swan boats/Thunder canyon area. There is still alot of undeveloped land just sitting back in that part of the park.

*Also, this is not a "CP is running out of room" topic. Merely a "where will the next one go" question. So let's keep our eye on the ball.

MANTIS ROCKS 2002 & 2003

Can't you wait until after you ride Dragster until you ask this question? Wherever it's going it won't happen for a long time from now. Heck the employee rumor mill hasn't gotten a chance to start for this season yet! :)

Building record breaking rides is easy to market and can contain just as much pure fun as any other ride. Unless we see another coaster for the kiddies, I doubt that they will build a new coaster that doesn't break some records.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

Ok, my two cents. It has been said that TTD has been in the makings since before MF opened. Who's to say that the 500'er isn't being drawn up as we speak? Where will it be? I'm guessing it'll be right down the main Midway. It'll be a monster with several record-breaking vetrical loops. It'll be dubbed "Galactic-coaster". And, in order to make the lift hill more efficient, man-elevators will take riders up 10 stories to the loading platform. Thus ending the ride at a height equal to that of the first hill of The Blue Streak. A total of eight high capacity elevators, four up/four down, will be utilized. Each elevator will be capable of carrying enough passengers to fill a train. These will be open air elevators. Therefore, making them "the ride before the ride". there will be no underground tunnels at Cedar Point. Ever. The geographic water table only allows for about 15', give or take a couple feet, on the north coast of Lake Erie. This coaster will be another Intamin project, as Cedar Fair is quite pleased with their relationship with Intamin. Especially, the "heartline twist" feature. Although, it needs some tweaking, Intamin does the best job of engineering it. This coaster will contain many of the features we've all come to love in the modern roller coaster, yet it will occupy a relatively small footprint.

But, this is just a guess. Made ya drool, didn't I?

I'm guessing the next ride will be in Frontier Town. It will the the world's tallest, fastest, longest, and bestest Flying Coaster. It will be a B&M.

Another place would be the current area of the Turnpike Cars, since CP has three car rides and Turnpike Cars is the smallest. Calypso could be moved to the area between MF Plaza and the Frontier Trail. The new ride would be giant new Huss ride. It will also the Tallest and Fastest ride of its kide.

Sarcasm...ya gotta love it...

The first half of it sounded just the beginning of "House on Haunted Hill" which featured the Incredible Hulk coaster. Which would be cool, but I doubt we'll see that for quite some time.

I'm still liking the idea of either a flyer or floorless in the front of the park, near demon drop and over top of the employee parking lot...although that might look a bit Six Flags having a coaster on top of a parking lot...

I'd love to see a flyer over the MF island and the lagoons. I think that would be the best spot in the park for a B&M flying coaster.

Nowhere. They're running out of room.

Now, where'd that dead horse get off to? I need to resume beating it.

CP ran out of room 3 years ago...

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

It's not a matter of Cedar Point running out of room; however it is a matter of how ugly will Cedar Point become in the process of turning it into a Six Flags park.

They don't exactly have a huge amount of free space to build. Millennium Force used up pretty much the rest of the undeveloped area of any bulk at Cedar Point..

There already are too many Six Flags parks, I don't want another one.

I hope you are joking.

Anyways, i think the next coaster will be made towards the back of the park by Mean Streak try to get more people back there again.

Besides the great rides and being the best of everything, the best part about Cedar Point is that it isn't Six Flags! YAY!

Hello...Umm, CP isnt running out of room. I'm pretty sure Micheal Darling was joking. Stop taking it seriously. And its not turning into a SF park either. Sheesh

I'm pretty sure they were saying they didn't want CP to become like Six Flags, not a Six Flags.

i think if cedar point would take out camper village and make a new midway back to that part there could be like 3 more good coasters and then make another hotel somewhere else
Its crazy how many times this topic keeps getting brought up....

I'd love to see a B&M floorless back by thunder canyon, it really would bring a breath of fresh air back there.

The question of WHAT Cedar Point will build next has been discussed to death. However, I have not heard the topic of WHERE they will build it.

Also, don't judge Cedar Point's room by the map, its made to make the park look full when it isn't.
