....when they announced Millenium Force. As for me, I was at the gym, hitting the weights when I saw on tv about a huge coaster that will debut for 2000, I knew Cedar Point was coming out with something for 2000, but i certainly did not expect Millenium Force. I shouted "YES" very loudly at the gym when I found out it was CP and of course everyone was looking at me..hehehe.
Well i just got up and i went online because the day befor i was online on a message board and found out that they were going to tell all about their new coaster. So as i was saying i got up at like 930 and ran down stairs and went to the site and saw MILLENIUM FORCE!!!!!!

Mantis How Much Can You Stand?
Well, I had checked the site earlier that day and nothing out of the ordinary was posted. Then when I went to the site again looking for some info about Magnum I saw the little icon that said Cedar Point 2000. I just clicked it and when I saw the page after that, I nearly fell out of my chair. I read all of the stats and looking at the layout saying, "MY GOD HOW CAN THAT LITTLE YELLOW THING BE MANTIS!?!"
I got email from CP.

I was definitely at the park when it was announced, things were going through the employee rumor mill about what the new coaster was going to be, but I don't remember exactly when and where I heard about it, I just remember knowing some stuff when it was officially announced and being like "sweet."

ATL Zone 3 Sweeps 2000
Well I was at home that morning on July 22nd, and got a call from the Sandusky Register early in the morning and they wanted my thoughts on the ride, after the reporter told me about all of the stats. My comments appeared in the newspaper that day with the announcement in the paper

Skipped school on July 22nd, sat in front of computer monitoring Cedar Point's official site, Cedar Fair's site, Sandusky Register's site, and Guide to the Point.
I first saw it on Dan's site just before the official announcement.

i was at my grandmas house in cleveland and missed the news report cuz i was in the shower : P... i had a plan where i didnt want to see any picture or nothing and be totally surprised when i went there when it opened... because i ALWAYS memorize the layout after a couple of glances at pictures and then nothing is a surprise when i ride it... but i dont think i could have survived this long without peeking, although it would have been cool to go to cedar point not knowing what to expect...
Well badnitris, I think that you might just have the layout memorized because of all of your SWWWEEEEEETTTTTT renderings and POV's.
Some people agreed to wait until the official 10am time to announce it on their site. ;)

magnum of MF now that is a real question.
I had accidentaly left AOL Instant Messanger on all night (along with my computer), and when I got back on my computer (at about 10 AM) there was a message from airtime205 on that said something like "Can you believe it?", so I raced to Guide to the Point and my jaw dropped....

I was at work, reading GttP, hitting reload every minute or two. =)
I was at Cedar Point and saw the board with the picture of the ride I thought is that Mantis thr little yelow thing?
Although I didn't know it was Millennium Force, I asked a CP guy why all the people (workers about 10 of them) were at the spot around where MF is now, he said that they were putting a new ride in that was in a class of it's own. This was either June 31st or July 1st.
