Now that we have Top Thrill Dragster on the Gemini Midway, where are folks gonna run? It's been my plan, the past few years, to run straight to Magnum first thing to find a GREAT coaster with NO lines (Everyone was running for Millennium Force!). Where should I run now?
Should I run for Millennium Force, cause everyone will run for Top Thrill Dragster? Or should I run for Top Thrill Dragster, since everyone will run to Millennium Force? Just wanted your opinions.
Also, does anyone remember what happed to Mantis' lines in the mornings when Millennium Force was built? Was the line LONGER cause of it's proximity to Millennium Force, or were they SHORTER because of it's proximity to Millennium Force? What's gonna happen to my early morning Maggie rides?

Aww.....Florida! But That's America's Wang
1. Will the ride have good reliability. You don't want to plan to ride it at 3pm, and then it goes down at 2 (oh so common with Xcelerator). Good reliability also keeps the line a steady wait, not going from 30 minutes before a breakdown to 2 after. Its an Intamin prototype (not all the kinks have been worked out), expect it to have horendous capacity. Its common for Xcelerator to go down every day, for hours at a time. Its slowly getting better though.
2.What the capacity will really be. Xcelerator was said to have a capacity of 1330. ROTFLMAO. Even with 6 of the most attentive ride ops checking the restraints, it comes nowhere near. If they could unload, load, and say dispatch in just 25 seconds (there is a 22 second delay between the word dispatch, and the next train stopping in the station, and lap bars being released. They struggle to unload, load, and then dispatch in under 60-80 seconds, leading to a capacity of maybe 720 people if nothing goes wrong.
3. How the public reacts to the ride. WIll they be scared, or motivated to ride? Thats why Xcelerator has a 30 minute line while Ghostriders in 90 minutes.

Do they let you in early at the Magnum entrance if you have Joe Cool? I know they did for the front entrance but I wasnt sure about the Magnum entrance. Thanks
When I was there on closing day this year the park opened @ 12 and I went in through the Wicked Twister entrance at 11. Millennium Force and Raptor were open first, then Wicked Twister and I'm sure the other big ones opened around 11:30. I have a feeling the Magnum Entrance will let the resort guests/JCC members to go in first.

Cedar Point 2003, where no roller coaster rider has gone before
Its an Intamin prototype
Not true. Top Thrill Dragster is the third hydraulicly launched rollercoaster Intamin has built.
The first Intamin made for testing to see if the technology actully worked.
The second was Xcelerator. It hasn't done too bad as breakdowns occur, but it's had a few problems that are expected with any custom built machines.
You can guess were the third is going. The other two were built by intamin for testing to see if Dragster could be launched this fast. It's going to be interesting to see this heap of steel run.

Who would have thought that we would come to a time where we don't even know where to run first!?!
If I get there before the gates open, I'm going to Dragster first. On the contrary, if I'm there a little but around when the gates open, I'll probably go to WT like I did all last year. Everybody will be rushing for MF and TTD, IMO. It will take a trip or two to figure out the crowd dynamics.

True, but that wasn't really the reason they were built. Sure, CF or Intamin invested a little more money into the more powerful launch system on Xcelerator (up to 117MPH) to see if it would work, and it did. The other 82 MPH of the ride are there as an Investment for Knotts, not soley to make sure that Dragster would be open when the clock hits 10am. CP may be the chain's flagship park, but the other 5 parks aren't its biotches. In fact, knotts has higher attendence than Cedar Point, and its 3 waterparks and higher attendence make up for the extra cost of year round operation. Its going to be really intresting how some of the idiots on this board act when the ride is closed because it brokedown. Xcelerator has horrendous reliability. they're not spending enough time to fix it; finding a modification that will help both rides (you know CP is not the only park in the world that matters), and then implimenting that on the two.
