Where to hold season's passes for the day?

shamrockcb's avatar

Ok I'm a newbie and haven't had a season's pass since my pre teen years. We used to have laminated passes and wore them on lanyards all day. Is this still the case? I'm assuming it's more like a credit card, but where do you hold the passes while you are at the park so they don't get lost? Thanks! :)

And it just dawned on me... where in the world am I going to put them when we are at the water parks! :O

Swimsuit with a pocket.....Punch a hole in it and do your lanyard thing! Its like a credit card.

If you really don't want to hold onto your pass at the water park and don't want to get a locker you can go in the gate then get your hand stamped and leave immediatly to put your pass in the car then go back into the park.

The passes are dumb plastic. No magnetic stripe or anything sensitive. There's no reason you can't put them in a velcro swim pocket.

The most easily damaged part of the pass is the bar code. Last great, after a few soak city visits, our bad codes started to flake off. Almost didn't get into Kings Island. Luckily, I keep a picture of our passes on my phone. It scanned and they let us in. The following week we replaced them when we returned to CP. Since then, I put a strip of heavy clear packing tape over the pass.

Thanks for the tips! Seeing as I'm female I haven't seen too many suits with pockets, but like the idea of stashing it in the car after receiving a stamp. I wasn't sure if they did that since they'd be likely to wash off. I also appreciate the suggestion of taking a pic of the pass on your phone- great idea! :)

a wallet.

After an unfortunate incident in 2008 involving CPPD, I quit carrying my pass in the park with me for the following three seasons. Except for limited occasions, I would bring my pass back to my car right after scanning it.

I would also avoid bringing my ID into the park. I would bring one key to my car, a limited amount of cash, my phone, and maybe a credit card. Little else. That actually turned into a good way of keeping my in-park spending very low. The little I did bring with me I usually kept in cargo pocket(s).

With the new season pass perks in 2012, and the closure of the "spiral lot," I now just keep my pass in a pocket when I visit the park.

My best advice: invest in a good pair of cargo pants (or shorts) to wear when visiting the park.

If it washes off while you're in the park, just get another stamp on your way out.

And if it washes off while you're in the bathroom outside the park, well, that's kinda your own fault.

Sometimes I'll pop my phone case off (iphone) and put the pass, a credit card, and 20 bucks behind the phone and then put the case back on. That way, if I have my phone, I have everything.

I pull my phone out of my cargo short pocket often, and sometimes the grippy silicone case will pull other things in my pocket (like the season pass) out with it, unbeknownst to me. I've had some close calls this way, which is why I put it inside the phone now.

I keep all of my cards that have a bar code including my Cedar Fair pass on an app like CardStar . Scans just like your plastic pass. Though I rarely take my phone in the park, its on it if I ever do.

Was this thread created prior to the invention of pockets or something? If a person needs to crowdsource the securing of a tiny, thin piece of plastic on their person, I'd be really hesitant to allow that person anywhere near a roller coaster.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

The problem is there are people who do not dress properly for a day at the Amusement Park.

I have found that a pair of shorts with a zipper pocket is the best thing to hold all your stuff, once zipped no worry about things falling out or getting stolen.

You'd be surprised what people wear to parks...I think it's funny when girls wear sweaters on an 80 degree sunny day, but with shorts. It's also funny as to why the girls do it and I never see any guys in one : /

On the opposite end of the spectrum, it's also funny to see people wearing shorts and a T-shirt on a 50 degree day. Shivering and looking totally miserable.
