Where to get hand stamps?

Are hand stamps available at every entrance/exit or only the main gate? I'm thinking we'll probably eat at one of the resort hotels when we're there which would require leaving the park and re-entering, right?

Also, when I did my search to see if this was already covered, it sounded like the hand stamps in past years were visible under a black light. Were they also visible to the naked eye? If you go to Soak City, how can you tell if your hand stamp is rubbing off?

Ok, lastly, some girl posted that she took like 6 showers before the stamp wore off. We're planning on being at the park for 3 days and probably getting hand stamps every day. Will they all end up visible or will it just look like a big mess?

All of the entrances have areas to get your hand stamped. Just make sure you don't pass up the people stamping you. ;)

As for them being visible and for your last question, they change the ink on days it seems like, for instance on some days it's just a bright yellow and on others it is more of a white color which isn't as visible that solves the bigg mess of stamp problems. I wouldn't worry too much about it all. :) Have a good trip!

The stamps don't rub off too easily, even in the pools at soak city. Sun screen stakes them right off though so be careful.

CP's hand stamps consist of the invisible ink that stays on pretty well after hand washes, but what were they thinking at King's Island?!?!

They had some black ink that was like a Crayola washable marker for the hand stamp. I washed my hands in a restroom outside the gate, and as soon as the water touched it, it washed off 100% no trace.

I have a season pass, but to see if they'd give me trouble, I went through the re-entry and said it washed off completely. She gave my eyes a deep honesty glare and let me in, but what a poor system!

If they're going to use washable ink, then stamp closer to the elbow...

^KI used to have black light ink last year. CP may very well have this stamp this year.

Oh I didn't realize that. Maybe Cedar Fair is going green this year and trying to save energy. If they don't stamp in a better place though, they just created a situation of pissed off guests and free admission.

I wish they would devise a way for SP holders not to get a stamp. Like get biometrics like Universal and Disney so all that you need to do is scan your thumb on return (yeah I know not going to happen.)

In the meantime I say, just hand out wristbands for reentry, especially due to Soak City. It used to be that if you bought a Ride and Slide ticket when you entered CP in the morning you were given a wristband to get into Soak City later in the day. Since giving a wristband to everyone entering the park would be a hastle, it should be given to guests who want to leave and come back only.

I have a season pass but can you just show them your admission ticket if it has a date on it?

The times I've been to KI this year, the hand stamps washes away very easy.

Unfortunately they don't understand that you don't have to soak the stamp to make it work, so you end up with a big wet mess of ink that you can't identify as anything other than a big blob of ink. This has annoyed me for years.

There is no reason to not allow season pass holders to simply use their cards. They don't need any biometric anything... when they scan the card, your face appears on the screen. I think that's a pretty good validation on who you are. The question becomes whether or not gate central is smart enough to say, "Don't count this as an additional admission."

Universal and Disney both use some variant of a finger print to match with your ticket or pass, doesn't matter which, and you use that to leave and re-enter as necessary. Unfortunately, Universal's system sucks, in part because the finger readers never work, and also because the tickets don't scan easily under the laser scanner. Disney simply has slots that take the ticket in any direction, and placeholders to put your finger in. They work probably 98% of the time.

Agree that Universal's bio reader is cranky, but I prefer their barcode scan to Disney's magnetic strip. My wife and I have often been the victim of a damaged strip - as the cards are not rigid plastic. Running your card thru multiple times while people behind you imagine ways to kill you is no fun!

I had one that was a little flaky once, but given that they open so many lanes, since they require one person per two or three, it has never been an issue. I've never had to wait to get into a Disney park, whereas I've waited 10 minutes at Universal. As much as I love that place, they really don't get it right.

Speaking of the Kings Island Stamps, there was a group of kids where one kid had a ticket , then went it, and came right back out with a big red hand stamp, he got his hand wet, rubbed the stamp off onto his buddies hands and they all walked right in.
I tried it myself by putting it on my other hand and showing the gate attendant the transferred hand, they barely even looked at it. I walked right in.

I think they need to find a better way so they don't have more people ripping them off.

They do have that void mark on the bottom but if you transfer twice it goes back to the right way.

^ Not if you use the same stamp to transfer from the whole time like they said they did.
