We are going to CP on July 12th...looking for tips from you experts:
Is there any place to enter other than the front gate? And does it matter?
We are planning to make a run to MF right away in the morning...any advice?
Also, it's a Joe Cool day...so does that change any strategy.
Thanks in advance...trying to plan it all out in advance.
ALSO, what's the "one thing" you wish you had known on your first trip to CP? Secrets? Tips? Traffic? Parking? Lines? Hidden Gems?
The Marine gate. It is right near the IMAX theater and bumber cars. You can take a shuttle bus, if your in one of the hotels/campgrounds, to that gate or any other you choose!
------------- "Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
Use the marina gate.
------------- Live for FUN!
Don't let life fly by.
Last year we got to the marina gate about a half hour before the gates opened because we were planning on making a run to MF and we ended up only waiting 5 minutes to get on the ride and that was mostly just going back and fourth through the queue line so the marina entrance is definately your best choice.
TIP: After riding MF your best choice is to go on Mantis if you feel like it and then hit all the rides in the back because there will be no lines because most of the people will be in the front of the park and then swing around Frontier Town to the Gemini midway and head up to the front of the park or wherever.
Do what you want I just suggest going in the back of the park after MF.

Also, during the Joe Cool days, the crowds are little and shouldn't disrupt andy strategy's, well. . .maybe by like an extra minute or so. But not too bad. ---------- MF Laps - 12
Marina gate is definatly the way to go. I go there everytime I go to CP. ------------- Cedar Point Rules
Can you purchase tickets at the marina gate...and is it hard to find?
If I remember you can't buy tickets at the Marina gate, however, I may be wrong. I highly reccomend buying tickets through AAA if you're a member. You get $9.75 off.
When and where do these shuttle buses leave? Who could I talk to if I wanted to find out-maybe the campstore?? Thanks :)
------------- Trim brakes-a necessity??? Can't wait till my June 16-18 trip!
If you ever see the light beside the ride ops on Gemini on, ride it! I'm glad I was told this because If I had seen it without knowing what it meant, I would have passed right by. This light tells whether or not the trim brakes are on. The helix kicked my ass! I was shoved down into my seat, and then thrown up. Definitely do not miss a chance to ride this with no trims.
I'm not so sure about the shuttle buses but when I stayed at camper village last year we went to the check in or reservation place or whatever its called and they told us what to do or maybe the called for us but we ended up just finding a shuttle bus parked next to another one supposidly talking to another driver friend and I just asked one of them if he could give us a ride to the marina entrance and he did, I thought that was nice.
