"Where everyone loves to mimic the elves?"

Okay, so I was riding Magnum last week and as we returned to the station the guy doing the speil (I believe his name was Mark) said "... and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, where everyone loves to mimic the elves."

Of course I had no clue what the heck he was talking about. Has anyone else heard anyone on any ride say this? Better yet, does anyone have any insight on what this might mean?

The closest I'll ever get to riding a B&M Flyer is looking down while on Raptor... :(

But what to elves have to do with Elvis?

I'm guessing it was maybe a joke between the operators.

No, not anything to do with Elvis since it was early last week.

Or maybe what you heard was elves, and what was said was Elvis. Either way, what does it matter?

It matters because all I asked was a polite, simple question. My friend heard the same thing.

Elves could be just a short way of saying "Elvis." It is a well known fact that everyone loves to mimic Elvis

"You ain't nothin' but a houndog, cryin' all the time..."

So what's better; skydiving or riding in Raptor's front seat?

It either happened to have something to do with Elvis or he was just being goofy (A lot of us Ride Ops love to be goofy like that it keeps us entertained)

Could it possibly be the 25th anniversary of Elvis's death? :)

What I want to know is how you guys figure elves (think Keebler) has anything to do with Elvis (think gyrating hips). I want whatever you guys are on! :)

Say elves and elvis quickly to yourself, if you are not paying attention they sound pretty darn similiar.

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?
Aside from the fact that elves has one syllable and Elvis has two.

When I think of gyrating hips, the last thing I think of is Elvis ;) [one word: Shakira]

Thank you Mark; both for giving us an answer that wasn't "Elvis" and for keeping speiling interesting.

You know, I was comtemplating begging somebody on the Magnum crew to let me write a speil for them and beg them to read it, just for the halibut... but I never got around to it.

By the way, I think I heard only one person say the real drop length of 194' 8" this year. That makes two people ever. Any idea who it was?
